Bongos wasn't a reggae musician. Also, his heyday was the 1970's and early 80's, when reggae was not that popular yet.

BLAKKY was more pop or dancehall, rather than reggae. (Rosie does sound like it could be a bit reggae tho).

So, influenced by reggae, but not a reggae musician.

You haven't listened to some old Nigerian music.

Most of the time, many people from generation to generation have said the same thing about the popular music of the day. When those reggae stars were around, as a child then, I can recall my very religious parents calling such music meaningless. (though my religious mum did once praise Fela for having a social message in many of his songs...even as she blasted his immoral lifestyle).

There's a particular reggae artiste whose videos I posted. It seems the anti-spam bot will ban you anytime you post his name. It banned me early this morning for posting his video. The mods released me and then it banned me again when I posted his second video. It took a long time before I was released and that's why I couldn't finish the thread.

(I don't like APC or tinubu, or any of the other main parties, but there are times when we all need to take a break from politics..which is why we have alternative sections for that.).
