As regards to Kanu jumping bail, only a tree will hear that they want to cut it off and still remain where it is. If you are not being biased I expect you to question why the FG was interfering with court process by invading kanu's house and even killing people in the process. Due to that singular action by the FG, a once peaceful organization who had just flags for their protest became a violent organization with a militia wing that has been attacking our security personnel and killing them for revenge ever since. So if you ask me, the government is the security threat by continuously making wrong decisions.

Secondly, no court, not even the supreme Court will hold Kanu or listen to his case in the basis of that extra ordinary rendition, the way he, Kanu was brought back to Nigeria. The reason is because, kidnapping anywhere is an international crime. If the court carries on with the case on the basis of that, it is legitimising kidnapping. It means if you offend someone, the person can organize people to kidnap you, torture you for as long as possible and then take you to court; a bad precedence.

I am trying to explain to you in very simpler terms if you are not in the legal department. I hope you understand my explanation


Concerning your last point about conflicting issues about the appeal court ruling.

Let me just make you understand something. The FG didn't know what the appeal court was trying to do. The appeal court acquited Kanu and ordered his immediate release in order to set him up for a better/normal arrest. But the FG was not intelligent enough to know that. Now they have headed to supreme Court and once the supreme Court orders that the decision by the appeal court be adhered to, FG cannot arrest the man again. You can see how the FG shot themselves in the foot

We have been drowning in this country, Nigeria. I swear! The Southeast House of Reps, the Senate and certain elders (without'the Leader of the traditional rulers council) et al, want the FGN to release a defendant because a court of appeal ''acquitted'' him. In their confusion, the legal team wants a judicial review, and to know why the court of appeal leaned merely on extraordinary rendition but not the locus of the alleged crime. Now, the FGN has headed to the SC for it to explicate why the charge was struck out and the red-herring of extraordinary rendition held its head aloft. The FGN literally wants a publically defined judicial review, so does the defendant. These SE leaders must stop treating the executive as a guttersnipe or pariah. The charge was struck out and not dismissed. The defendant must answer the charge by law. The defendant was never acquitted. Whatever the consequential order, the charge was merely struck out, as is applicable in a matter of procedural jurisdiction per extraordinary rendition. The court of appeal lacks the power to delve into the issue of locus, where it is contentious, and it is a fulcrum in the case, especially where the defendant has never denied committing the crime on the charge. As the FGN did not, more or less, challenge the crux of the appeal at the lower court, the SC may take it into consideration, and suo moto, define extraordinary rendition in this instance, or an adverse consequential order of the FGN not filing as an interested party (?). The rumbling that releasing the defendant ''will'' bring inter alia peace to the southeast makes an ass of the law. Let justice prevail according to law, let the heavens delve into apocalypse, or as they say, ''Let the heavens fall''.
