deept: Another delusional bint who thinks Nigerians are the ones keeping the UK afloat. No UK university has gone bankrupt before so what makes you think it is Nigerians that are maintaining them and keeping the professors employed. Most coming in can only afford to pay for a masters for one year and most of these universities have UK students on 3-4 year undergraduate programs. Genuine qualified Nigerian Doctors & Nurses are doing a great job on the NHS but they are not the majority and I have also not said anything against them..this is about fake students. As for Careworkers, a Nigerian was jailed for 10 years the other day for killing a patient which is is my other point. People abusing certain visas which have lax protocols when they clearly do not know how to do the job. https://theeagleonline.com.ng/nigerian-student-allegedly-jailed-10-years-for-manslaughter-in-uk/#:~:text=Nigerian%20student%20allegedly%20jailed%2010%20years%20for%20manslaughter%20in%20UK,- This man lied about his age to get visa and ended up killing a mother of 3 in a botched operation. https://guardian.ng/news/uk-court-jails-85-year-old-nigerian-doctor-after-admitting-to-killing-patient/ 1 Like |

justwise: Stop projecting. I have not said anything about immigrants in general. This is all started when someone brought up the ex-chancellor mentioning Nigerian students and their dependents and I just responded with my thoughts which you didn't like as they don't align with your own. The other response was when someone asked about whether it was worth leaving Nigeria when he already had a £47k salary. I explained that it wasn't worth it as £47k did not go far in the UK. |

Gemma11: nobody said Nigerians are keeping the Uk afloat. Nigerians are contributing. Just because one bad Nigerian lied and killed somebody we will ot hear work. What about the thousands who are doing their care jobs everyday saving lives. The dependants and students working in factories doing the jobs your British people will not do getting the economy moving. My sister/brother please rest. If the universities are not gaining from revenue from Nigerian students, why do they have recruitment fairs all the time in Lagos and Abuja. Why did the universities also come out quickly to criticize any policies that could have come from limiting or tightening tier 4 visas. As long as they are coming in legally what is your problem? what is the name calling for? 13 Likes 1 Share |

Gemma11:this is bitter truth ! Suddenly Matured Nigerian luv Masters program they sell everything including cars , furniture ,cloths ,gas cooker ,plates and pots just to attend this Masters in the UK ! They mirror the UK student visa = immigration and settlements visa .any real student will not behave in this manner ( the Chinese don't go about selling pots and pans to UK Masters ) ! The Master is so rewarding that Nigerians now used arrange POF ,fake marriages ,Fake dependants ,borrowed money just to attain this HIGHLY REWARDING UK MASTERS ( like is life and death matter ) They say they have JAPA to PARADISE ! 1 Like |

Munamoqel: Indian vs Nigerian comparison has not finished you want to drag China in... And how do you know they don't sell things or take bank loans or source for funds where applicable to them to achieve their educational/migration dreams beyond the shores of China? Allow the current tide die sir/ma. |

deept: Not just NHS the whole UK is lacking in human capital so let those British who want to complain continue. So Gemma11 continue and carry on. It the same you that would be affected in other areas due to lack of staff. Ambulances say no drivers abi My may half term holiday to Italy was cancelled by the airline, my August holiday was cancelled as well due to shortage of staff from the airline.... so everyone has wetin they pain them. Me I know how disappointed my kids were after planning these trips and we didn't get to go. Got full refund and even got compensation.. now all these airlines paying compensation won't it affect their bottom line leading to airline going burst and affecting the economy.... UK Cannot stand on its own without immigration at the moment .....if you believe it can then continue , las las e go touch everybody here 5 Likes |

iboboyswag: I don't think anyone here will defend you on this point. The NHS might not be perfect but it is absolutely ridiculous to even suggest that the health system in Nig is better. You may not have needed to use the NHS, but many have literally had their lives saved by the NHS and the bonus is they didn't have to bankrupt themselves in the process - unlike places like US and other 1st world countries you seem to think are better. So yes, while it's not perfect I'm very proud and grateful for the NHS and I hope it will get even better going forward. 2 Likes |

leef2022:how when agent are misleading people up and down in Nigeria making them resign the good jobs for some lowlife jobs in the UK ! how can a senior bank officer resign and become a cleaner ! This an abberation .we want our banker to move to ADB ,WB IMF ,CBN AFC is so the movement up and bottom ! Student visa is for studying ! Packing 6 dependants to dump on the UK system is wrong ! Where are the houses ,playground ,doctors ,school space to absorb this large inflow ? If a Nigerians goes for Masters and secure a Job then he can bring his family 2 Likes |

leef2022: Chinese students are usually much younger, so likely sponsored by their parents. They also on average do not have to rely on part time jobs while studying. There were many Chinese students during my uni days -most were studying for their undergrad and many had a very affluent, fully funded lifestyle |

Munamoqel: Sir you are not in a position to dictate to a family how they want to live their life...no one has the power to do so. No country in the world gives visa to a family man and say only later can your family join.... You think because inhumane treatment get to fly in your little world , then that should be the norm. Thankfully life doesn't work based on your thought process 13 Likes |

It is what it is No amount of tantrum throwing or name calling on Nairaland would stop students or grandparents from coming to the UK on student visas. The UK government obviously enjoy the revenue generated from issuing out students and dependent visas hence it is still open for more applicants. 4 Likes |
