5 accounts is an understatement, he has hundreds of accounts, he has been using to advertise since 2018 with his gangs.

And some people are still asking for evidence.

Hmmmm

Accuser, what you call farm work isn't, the owner is looking to be smart.

The owner isn't financially capable enough to run a standard farm or he's just too stingy to invest in it

Before you pick a farm job try visit the farm first for sightseeing and how farm operations is done there

There's nothing that shows the farm owner is a good employer

Just forget about it all

For the fact that the accused resorted to threats and use of reverse psychology to drive home his point lays credence to what the op said so far. We actually have intelligent people that you can't fool easily here. We can spot the truth when we see one.
Don't be scared to speak up if you find yourself in an unfavourable situation, don't die in distress, make a move, how I wish more people will speak up let's nip wickedness in the bud in this nation. Op I really commend your courage, you have earned my respect.

I have read just about 30% of this thread as it's piling up fast but I think I have a slight idea of what is going on.

Farming is not so profitable as a business to afford high salaries and to keep business afloat farmers utilize numerous expense cutting measures.

An inevitable and expensive part of this business is farm labour. Years past, farm labour was cheap to obtain especially from rural areas but the advent of okada and more rural-urban migration has caused scarcity and a rapid increase in cost of farm labour and lots of 'yanga' from villagers.

To cut costs, I believe @Iamblessed12 strategized online recruitment and placing workers on a monthly pay instead of daily pay for his farm in a deep rural area.

What I think is this, livestock and cereal production today is getting unfavorable for small scale farmers as more commercial farms are taking a bulk of the market and giving unfair competition. To make it work, you may have to move your farm closer to an urban area, probably scale down a bit so you require less labour or if you have money, employ more mechanization.

Otherwise, just turn your farm into a tree crop farm that won't require so much labor if you intend staying back in the village.

Those village boys eyes don open and they will rip you of all your profit.

You are a pro in farm business.

If you cannot afford daily pay for labour, na issue be that

He can also do cassava planting

I've experienced what the accuser is saying before but I'm not defending the accuser but I want people to know the reality of Nigeria
I saw an ad on jiji about a job with accommodation in ido in Oyo state
I quickly left Lagos then to the place in ido
now
the place is very far inside bush with bad network
this company or factory say they are producing garri and cassava flour
see in Nigeria, if a black Nigerian says he has a
business and u should work for him

make sure u investigate first
I will rather work for an Indian than a black man
I'm a Yoruba man, but Yoruba bosses of upcoming companies or farm are very wicked
after entering the factory in ido ,I thought all what I saw online will be true until I saw how the place looked Like a pigsty
I don't want to mention the name of the company
as the son of the owner who are both bastards is here on Nairaland and will know I'm talking about him
the idiot son of the owner of the Factory in ido underpays workers and treat them like crap
many workers especially the tiv people of Benue who were there then all ran away leaving few people
sometimes people work from morning till morning of. the second day
if u should sleep in one of their rooms they will say they didn't build it for sleeping or laziness
it was when I was in ido in Oyo state I knew there are many Benue people in Yoruba land
Igbo's no reach Benue people, tiv idoma igede in Oyo state alone
and I spent over 17 years in Ibadan
the people I pitied then were the igede farm boys
they were used like slaves
working on farm from 3 in midnight till 9 pm
the owner of the factory also a Yoruba man was now telling me how he only needed strong people for the work
saying he doesn't need lazy people
me I was just laughing
I didn't reach 5days I ran away to a farm in the same ido
now the farm was located in ido but another area
mind u the factory I was working before is very far
the bsstard had to choose inside bush to locate his Factory
now after reaching a farm that I wanted to try out
that's when I thank God for making me taste wealth in my life from my family side when I was in Ibadan
people on Nairaland
poverty no good
I pity workers some times
the factory I left was paying 25k as salary lol
now this farm I went to was also paying the same amount 25k but it was a small farm
it was owned by a Yoruba pastor in rccg in Ibadan
my experience with religious leaders in Yoruba land especially pastors made me hate religion and Christianity
I loathe pastors more than anything because of my experience but that's another thing, that one is very long explanation
now the farm I now went to was a poultry
many workers ran away
and the place was just local and rubbish looking
did u know when I left the poultry I begged the pastor owner of the farm to give me and my friend half of what job we did as transportation fare, we did 1 week there
at least our money should be 6k
I asked the bastard pastor just for half of the money not for me but for my friend there because we planned to leave together and I had some change with me
the pastor instructed the manager of the poultry to not give us 1,kobo
if I wanted to steal his property I would have done so
but I left and paid my friend then his transport money to Ogun state from ido in Oyo state
see the accuser is right
all this bosses especially Yoruba ones are liars and opportunist
they no send u
they will use u like slaves
India's and Lebanese no near them for wickedness
black people are heartless human
I have many other stories to tell
let me stop here

You should share ur story sometime in future when u ready...
U need to help motivate people..
Alot of people are going thru hell

The bastard said to my face that it is people with damaged life that he normally gets for the farm job...he thought I didn’t have transport to go back home...he even got to find out I am way richer than what he thought, I just played along because I wanted to learn how to become a farmer. He wanted to turn me into his slave, I never even saw the farm...I had to buy food with my own money...You need to see what this guy said I should eat...premature yam with no water or oil or stew or soup and he himself will not eat it ooo. He will soon meet his doom very soon.

I don't know the op, or the accuser (Iamblessed12),
I am talking from a neutral point of view

1) Complaining about 35 minutes walk

The work is called Farming for a reason, not fun trip

The farm is inside the bush, not a city, were u see easy transport, to carry u to the farm,

So since the farm is inside the bush, u need to walk to get there (I see nothing bad in these )

2) concerning maltreatment of worker

Sometimes when an employer becomes too free with some employees, they take him/her for granted

So in this case, An employer should act professional at all times, even if it means being strict, shouting, short-paying them,

All these are just disciplinary measures, that are put in place, to discipline and correct workers during wrong doings, to make employees SIT-UP and these will IN-TURN enable and prolong the growth of the business.

3) No Concrete Evidence

Of all Accusations dropped by the Op(I am not saying, he is lying),

There should be evidence, if what happened between the OP's friend, And the Accuser(I am blessed.12) did happen,

Why not the Op's friend write about it or backup the op's accusations with proof

To the Accuser(I am blessed.12)

U cannot stop doing good for people because of misunderstanding or hatred, envy of some people towards your business

Everyone cannot like or love u, it is part of life

Do what your mind started with, which is helping people

if u refuse to help people looking for employment on these forum because of your misunderstanding with some people here,

It means what u were accused of, Is True,

If u are contacted by someone on these forum for a job, don't decline or reject the individual (because it was there free-will, they were not forced to contact U)

Everyone is not the same(u may end up happy employing the new person)

Maybe one day, one of the people u have given jobs on these forum, in the past, will one day speak and defend u,

And u will be vindicated.

one recently happened to me in Lagos
I posted my story then
I lost a lot of money and was dead broke
the owner of the factory was a pastor
I begged on Nairaland then, only Nairaland Gave me 5k
people were just commenting and promising
the incident that happened in that factory is still affecting me till now
saying I hate pastors is an understatement
I loathe them because they are evil because of what I've went through in their hands
see if I tell u my stories, u go just dey weep for me,u can't help me
if only I can see a helper
well,that's life
but the crux of the matter is, people are suffering in Nigeria

On page 1, did I just read they resumed by 9 due to compensation on "35 MINUTES STROLLING "to the farm

That's wickedness, to trek in bush for 35minutes is strolling? even if you bought a bike later, why will you use such term and who do you think you want to confuse?

With only the above I feel the op might be a bit right, seems someone is trying to sugar coat sufferings.
I thought I was the only person that saw that part

Let me explain small;

You will have to wake-up early and prepare your food, then walk to the farm(45mins walk) and start by 8am till 5pm with an hour break.

The salary is 40k.

The guy use to employ new workers like every month cos it difficult to last there for 3months straight.

There are places you may go b4 you can get network. The place is inside the forest which cuts you away from the outside world.

You can only use your salary to treat urself if you are sick.

There is food shortage most times.

No beds to sleep. most workers sleep on mats.

Last and most importantly, WATCH YOUR NYASH IN THE NIGHT TO AVOID STORIES THAT TOUCH. Legend have it that homoo is a thing there between workers.

ADVANTAGE.

He never miss to pay on the agreed date. And there is nothing to spend money on there, so your money is always intact.

IamBlessed12

Deny this accusations first. i'm angry cos i nearly fell for this thing.

I tried to read the comments of both parties. What I can deduce is that both parties are not happy with themselves. That's the world we now live in. A world where life is not fair to any.

@ IamBlessed12
I know it is not an easy thing to be an employer. To even go into farming, I must say you are a courageous person. You may however be wrong in some ways and some of the accusations may be right. I am not saying the accuser is right here.
My little advise
1. Try to work on those areas you are accused of instead of defending yourself.
2. Provide better living conditions for your workers especially a good place to rest and sleep.
3. Always remember to do unto others what you want others to do unto you. Inorder words, treat your workers well, whether they are educated or not and irrespective of their tribes.
4. Ask workers to give you feedbacks and from time to time, enquiry about their welfare.
5. Don't have the mindset that you are doing people a favour and they only come to work for you because they have no choice. Don't be like the Chinese, Labanese and the Indians. We will eventually leave all these things behind and will give account of what we did with the opportunities God gave us.

@ Fulanbanza
I can understand you are not happy with the way things went. It is good you spoke about it. Whether you're speaking for yourself or a friend, know that this is the situation of things in this country. The economy is harsh to everyone which makes many employers look like the devil.
Someday, you might be in the position of the employer and you may begin to see things for yourself. You see a lot of challenges that would want to discourage you.
Things are really not perfect.
My little advise to you.
1. In situations like this, try not to spoil people's businesses by rubbishing.
2. Have a one on one talk with the employer.
3. Make findings before accepting offers
4. As you work with anyone, constantly advice on way forward and better welfare.

Let there be peace. God bless
