The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has concluded arrangements to recover the Waste Disposal Truck that recently fell off the 3rd Mainland Bridge into the lagoon approaching Iyana Oworonshoki from 3rd Mainland Bridge inwards Alapere-Ogudu axis.

This exercise is scheduled for Sunday, 23rd October, 2022, commencing from 1.00pm.

Consequently, there will be road closure and traffic diversion on the 3rd Mainland Bridge for motorists moving from Lagos Island to connect Mainland through Iyana Oworonshoki while the recovery operation is ongoing.

In order to avoid delay and inconvenience during the recovery exercise, the following alternative routes are advised for motorists coming from Lagos Island and Mainland (Ebute-Metta) towards Iyana Oworonshoki on the 3rd Mainland Bridge:

*1)* From Victoria Island/Ikoyi/ Lagos Island, use Carter Bridge to:

a) Ijora Olopa (by LAWMA Headquarters) to Eko Bridge to Funsho Williams Avenue ( old Western Avenue) to Dorman-Long Bridge to Ikorodu Road through Fadeyi and connect desired destination,

Or

b) Carter Bridge to Iddo to Oyingbo to Herbert Macaulay Way to Jibowu to Ikorodu Road and connect desired destination.

2. From Victoria Island/ Ikoyi/ Lagos Island; to Mainalnd (Ebute-Mette);

use Adekunle interchange to Herbert Macualay Way to connect desired destination

NOTE:

Please, note that motorists moving from the Mainland inwards Lagos Island are not affected by this recovery exercise on the 3rd Mainland Bridge.

While seeking the cooperation and support of all road users/ motorists, security and traffic management personnel will be deployed to all the alternative routes to ensure free flow of traffic, safety and security of all road users.

We apologize for any inconvenience this scheduled recovery exercise may cause.

Was on third mainland bridge when the incident happened past 10pm.
Some boat drivers helped in rescuing those in the truck from drowning.

It's been about 4 days now.

Maybe they were waiting for weekend to do the recovery.

When Obi becomes the president there will be no more accidents, no more terrorism, no more inflation, no more death at all just population explosion like China!

Our education and road network will be number 1 in the world!

Corruption will be negligible!
Our oils will be sold at $500 Quwaiti dollars per barrel.

Our hospitals will be like that of Datti in Abuja, world-class, pretty affordable to all and sundry!
