one thing I noticed is that EPL have pull. Whether it's the monetary pull or the popularity or both, EPL have big pull.

The kind of players all these average club pool from top teams in la Liga, France and Italy is a testament to that
but not every player and manager succeeds in epl

️| Jesus: “I spoke with him [the ref] after and he said ‘if you go down before maybe I can give a penalty.’ But I think I was fair, I tried to hold & keep standing & tried to finish the action but in the end he grabbed me & it was impossible, so I go down normally.” [@arsenal]

At this rate, if a defender kicks you deliberately on the face inside the box and you no fall down, no penalty.
Jesus needs to stop being fair
Arsenal needs to stop being fair. I think we're getting there cos I'm seeing the traits small small but we need to act fast.

We need to master the "dark arts". Jesus had no right holding on especially when the push/pull was much

You wouldn't know until you get a chance.
So nothing wrong in Emery having his chance again

You cannot be blaming the players for trying to be fair after seeing Saka get a card for going down.

Why must we always blame our players even for other people's inefficiencies. The ref was sh*t that's it. We move.
You are right and I agree 100% that the ref was horrible. However, It’s not the job of our players to be fair, opponents don’t approach the game with the mindset of being fair.

Infact, it is the job of the refs to ensure the match is fair and that is why he is there, not the players. I have seen teams push and force the referee to make a decision in those situations irrespective of previous incidents.

Saka got a yellow, however, that doesn’t mean the other 2 were illegitimate considerations or opportunities. Other teams would have still forced the silly ref to make a decision because there were contacts in those plays.

This is very perfect. We're meant to do our own job of forcing the ref into making a decision, then it's up to the ref to see whether our decision was right or not.

Most teams that hardly complain to refs hardly see decisions go their way at all.

This is another big point.
Tho I believe his finishing is the one that haven't been great so far this season with respect to the chances he gets.

And yeah, his dribbling, one-twos, footworks and dropping deep is what makes us dominate teams. If he doesn't drop deep most times, we wouldn't have progressed with the ball the way we do and our fluidity wouldn't have been there
And yes exactly what is making him suffer and others like Saka, Martinelli and Xhaka are enjoying the benefits.

Must he suffer for others to enjoy the benefits? shocked
What kind of fallacy is that? That a striker can't benefit as well as his other players.

How about he starts getting more clinical than how he should be and he'll automatically enjoy the benefits others are enjoying.

Man had missed 8 big chances in 11 games, I think the only person rivalling him is Rashford. That's an average of 1 big chance missed per match. He missed two big chances against Southampton and a big chance against Leeds but you're saying Xhaka who scored From a chance against Southampton (not even a big chance) is the one enjoying the benefits? Lol grin

Once his starts scoring his chance and big chances, he'll normally get his accolades. It's false for you to say his style of play limits him just to benefits others.

Spy sef.... cheesy

His first goal against Leceister and his assist for Vieira in UEL are perfect examples.
Earlier this season, we were able to create a lot of chances because we didn't find it difficult to break teams down no matter how resilient they are. This is due to how flexible our attack was. Remember the way Martinelli and Jesus do interchange. Now, when last did you observed something of such?
The problem is not because Jesus doesn't stay in box but because he has become rigid.

Naaaa.. You still have to force the ref to make a decision. The Jesus/ Tierney incidents would have forced a VAR review because they were more compelling.

Irrespective, it is a known fact that you force the ref to make a decision. If it goes otherwise fine but you don’t leave such opportunities, especially when you are seeking all 3 points.
That's the tricky part bro.
When the players protested against the ridiculous red card awarded to Gabriel in that Leeds match, the team was fined for misconduct. That's to tell you forcing the ref to make decisions may not work at times.

I am not saying the players should protest at the refs or that a protest will lead to a PK...naaaa. What I mean is that if Jesus/ Tierney had gone down considering the legitimacy of the contact/ fall, the ref or VAR ref would have asked the ref to come take a look or the ref would have been forced to consider that contact, that is what I mean when i say the incident will force the ref to make a decision.

VAR reviews incidents and we have seen instances after a call has been made the ref stops play and goes to the monitor because VAR is telling the ref there is something to be seen here. Saka's incident was an easy call, from the angles I have seen, he dived and I believe VAR also saw that and supported the refs decision.

Don't you understand the meaning of clinical again?? grin
To be clinical means to be able to score the chances you get

You can be in the box and still not be clinical na.

Moreover, I've once posted a photo here about Jesus having the most touches in the opposition box. More than any arsenal player and most in Europe top 5 league so you saying he should stay in the f*vvckn box is just you ignorant of the fact that Jesus can actually stay out of the box as well as in the box. Stats proves it also.

Look at this picture below. Jesus have the most big chances of an arsenal player. In fact he's more than twice as much as the next person in terms of big chances missed. How many big chances occur outside the box??

Look at his shots per game. You've watched Jesus this season, how many times have you seen Jesus take outside the box shots??

If you still think it's because Jesus is not Found in the box that's making him not to score then I don't know what else to say.

You think because he runs, drops deep and presses, it now means he's neglecting his primary duties as a striker?

The only thing found wanting in his game is just been clinical. It's facts!!
To be clinical means to shoot at goal with the right combination of accuracy and power. To that this one has to have the right composure and position. For a player that is running up and down and dropping too deep, by the time he gets the ball he lacks the right composure.

You need to see most of GJ misses especially on Sunday. There are some that he only needed to either wait for a second or took more than a second to strike. That's composure and you lose that when you're trying as a striker to get involved in chance creation all the time.

I understand you perfectly well. But if a referee wants to witch hunt you, you will be punished both for being fair and unfair. That's my point.

Arsenal heads have to start talking to the FA if not this rubbish will continue.

The embolden has been a recurring issue for us, especially post Wenger. Wenger used to get into spats with the refs and the FA. He put a ton of pressure on them and despite his numerous suspensions, he did not stop and that helped us a lot in subsequent games. I can't count the number of times Wenger was sent to the stands or suspended because of his collision with the FA over the actions of the refs.

Remember, Wenger came in and revolutionized the playing style in the EPL. He made it appealing, more desirable with style, ball movement/ passing which was in sharp contrast to physical, long balls the league was used to and so opponents targeted our players and Wenger wasn't having it. We need our leaders to push it with the FA. United and Chelsea before now do this better than us...

His misses on Sunday is not the only one he's missed. On some occasions he's missed in the first half even when game is 20min(Leeds big chance missed a recent example)

We're talking as if this isn't Jesus style of play and he's forced to do all these buildup. No, fyi, that's his style of play and that's the kind of striker Arteta Is looking for. Telling him to stop doing all those things and wait in the box is exactly the same thing that made him ran away from Man city. Same thing that he claimed he wasn't enjoying his ball at Man city

Look at most of his big misses(from Leicester to Bournemouth to Brentford to Leeds to Southampton), you'll find out he doesn't places it at the far corner of the post instead it's always at the central of the keeper. This is not due to tiredness (cos most misses are even in the first half) but this is just him lacking that finishing touch and finesse someone like Martinelli have. Martinelli works as much as he does too, why doesn't composure affect him too?

I just hope our attacking coach will look into finishing/shooting and start working on it cos we need him to start scoring like the others

Ps: You'll need to apologize to me for saying Gabriel Jesus doesn't "Fvcking" stay in the box undecided

Don't you know that for a striker to score someone has to be provider or creator?

If Jesus becomes the creator then it means that others will benefit in his stead.

For example, if GJ drops into the AM position it gives Xhaka the freedom to make a run and take up goal scoring positions. While this can be tactically advantageous, it shouldn't happen all the time because he deprives GJ the opportunity to take up such positions himself. Take your time and watch how Haaland plays. He allows others do the suffering while he focuses on positioning himself for goals.

If GJ after dropping deep and creates an opportunity, then himself tries to make a run even if he gets the ball, he will not have the best composure to finish with the right power and accuracy.

I keep repeating myself. If you understand but you not believe it's different from when you don't understand. Because I don't know the area you fall.

Your pictorial representation even buttresses my point. Check his no of touches in the box and outside the box are very similar and evenly spread across the frontline. He should be spending more time in the box than outside it. He is a striker but he is trying to play both striker and attacking midfielder all at the same time.

You played the way you are talking that's why I didn't watch you on TV. tongue

Martinelli and Saka are wingers and even if they don't score for 5games no one will bother. We are worried about GJ because he is a striker. A striker that has equal amount of touches all accross the front line- and that's for the whole season o, not just a match. His lack of goals is that he is Jack of all trades. If he doesn't reduce his involvement in deep areas, he will continue to miss chances as he will struggle to maintain goal scoring composure.

I was a goal scorer when I played, and it's been the secret. Ask any good goal scorer they will tell you.
