You played the way you are talking that's why I didn't watch you on TV. tongue

Martinelli and Saka are wingers and even if they don't score for 5games no one will bother. We are worried about GJ because he is a striker. A striker that has equal amount of touches all accross the front line- and that's for the whole season o, not just a match. His lack of goals is that he is Jack of all trades. If he doesn't reduce his involvement in deep areas, he will continue to miss chances as he will struggle to maintain goal scoring composure.

I was a goal scorer when I played, and it's been the secret. Ask any good goal scorer they will tell you.
I want to ask you a question.

Is his lack of goals caused by him not getting at the end of chances(i.e not receiving goalscoring chances) or because he's not converting them?

Which one?

Lol, I knew you were getting here sha.
I just know.

And no, most of his chances are not from deep. I understand. You always love an Auba and Giroud-type of striker. Anything aside that is not perfect striker to you grin
No be everything be argument
Spy is right on this one, like the commentator said on Sunday xhaka and odegaard are our real attackers other like saka Jesus and martinelli are inverted
Jesus spend most times with martinelli exchanging passes and hugging the touchline
Some many times white or our fullbacks will have the ball but no one in the 18, xhaka is the one making most runs that's why he's scoring recently because he's occupying Jesus's position

They are 'like' in terms of playing patterns. Though he is a better player. However Nketiah will bench him if he continues.
Jesus will not change in style and as long as he's not stopping in putting in the effort to get into the box and get at the end of chances... Then Nketiah will never bench him

Lol... Because Xhaka have scored in back 2 back games now, it now means he's occupying Jesus position? grin

Anytime we attack, 98 percent of the times, Jesus is always in the box. Just because we push more bodies inside the 18yard box (in Jesus, Xhaka, Odegaard, Martinelli and Saka) and anyone can score from there doesn't mean Jesus isn't in the box.

I mean

Jesus have the most shots in the team both per game and in total
Have the big chance missed
Have the most passes received in the box

But somehow, you guys believes he's always absent in the box because of a "preconceived notion" that he's always building up play.

I thought we should even be happy that we have different goalscorers and that if Jesus can just improve on his finishing (the only thing I feel is missing recently from his game since the chances are being created for him on a steady), we'll become an even more unpredictable and difficult team to handle. I mean, isn't that a hallmark of a top and dominant team, where goals can come from anywhere and any angle?

But then, I see what we want is the one only where our striker will be scoring goals only. Let us be a one-man team I guess.

It's alright!!

Aside Haaland (who's obviously a beast).
Can you show me the heat map of any other striker in the EPL?
Mitrovic, Toney, Auba/Havertz/, Rashford, Kane/Son... Two of any of these players let's compare their heatmap with Jesus

GJ sometimes overdo. The cutting ish has denied him 5 goalscoring chances alone this season. Just shoot and bury it. No! He go cut again.

Haaland and Jesus Drought na fatigue excuse we dey hear for both. grin

Sincerely we have too many romance with the edge of the box to not be getting as many goals as City. Overdo just dey enter am and it's annoying. Na why i love Xhaka. Once it comes to him, he's fired it.

What you said here is also very very valid.

I know how many times I've seen Jesus take that extra touch to beat a man when the easier alternative was just to place it.

My hope is that I just pray that our attacking coaches are working on him the way they worked on Saka and Martinelli

What I notice here is if you complain about a player it's an agenda
No one said Jesus is a bad player we just want him to stay in his lane most of the time
The same stats that was use to debunk mustafi is what they want to use to praise Jesus

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Lush100(m): 10:15am On Oct 26, 2022
Jodera is right.
Jesus is spending too much time in the AM position and left wing and peripheral places which is affecting his composure to score (problem laca had compounded by aging) and it's partly caused by the set-up (becos only the right side is making inroads with tomiyasu on the left).
Odegard is shying away from the AM spot because it involves lot of intelligent work and tackles too. So he comes out while saka makes more inroad.
Transit xhaka has taken advantage of odegard absence there by arriving there to finish chances.
Jesus should stay in the box (like against Brentford) and let odegard and xhaka handle the situation outside the box.
Arteta should allow Teneiry to play so that Martinelli can have space to run into the box via diversion same way white does for saka.
Odegard should learn to shot so that Jesus who is in the box can also pounce should there be a rebound.
Tomiyasu should only start when the opposition is stronger (more attacking than us ).
Eg liverpool, man city, newcastle and maybe manu or any other team that show it and he should play at right back.
Tienery can be instructed to play deep and only run when clear during these kind of matches.
I expect second string team for the europa, we only need a draw

If there's no red concentration then it means he doesn't have red concentration then.

So I'm waiting for your other strikers' heatmap for this season

Lol... I never opined that you said Jesus was a bad player na.

What I'm debunking is you guys saying that he doesn't stay in the box when in actual fact he does.

I hope we are giving this guy some consideration. I like us going for a good player that also have some love for the club beside the money attraction.

This is an open invitation that shouldn't be ignored, except of course we have a much better alternative.

Lol.. abeg oo.

This is the first time I'm hearing players losing composure because of missed chances just because he presses and run around.

I've never read it when Sanchez was here neither I've I heard about it during Martinelli after all both of them players exactly like Jesus.

But it's okay sha

una arguement dey always sweet and same time irritates me. but make i sha dey observe. but i can bet my left balls that GJ9 will score on sunday, and dis debate will get more loud for my satisfaction. personally i don't care if saliba or even ramsdale scores as long as we play well and win. after all in the whole team who get more shots in opposition box pass?, who gets more goal scoring chances in the opposition box pass?. if laca got more in opposition box with the kind chances oga gabi dey get he for score more goals than he did last season.

Thank you bro. This has always been my point.
Someone get more shots and more passes received and more chances to score in the opposition box yet he's accused of not being present in the box.

Anyways, I just hope G Jesus starts scoring regularly again with the chances he gets. That's just the Koko sha grin

I just hope we make use of our 2nd 11 and scrape out a least a draw. One thing with winning is that once one is winning, the confidence is very very high but it just takes a couple of losses or draw to make doubts creep in. Nottingham forest will be in good spirit after their win against Liverpool and any dropped points by us will certainly make doubts creep in within the squad.

We need to win to get our confidence and mojo back. I just hope the players are revved up. Also, if the 2nd team scrap a draw tomorrow, then we can actually get our players ready for Chelsea game next weekend.

COYG!!!!

Good. There are red markers showing areas of higher concentration. Now if you look clearly you will notice that the red markers are more inside the box evident that he spends more time there than outside it.

The only other place where we have little red markers are when he is defending.
