Please I want to apply for my husband and will be using the same new portal I used during my student visa application. Do I need to fill any form of representative or is there a need for him to write a letter that he gives his consent to fill the form on his behalf? Thank you everyone.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by srke2022(f): 2:36pm On Oct 25, 2022
You should reapply on the new portal. I have also been waiting since November 2021. I think we have a better chance of getting a decision that way.

Good morning fam,
I am also frustrated with the waiting game and I think I’ll start sending emails every week. I’ve sent 4 web forms and got two responses(standard).

Here is my timeline:

Visitor’s visa application submission: June 16, 2022(via the new portal).

Biometrics: May 2019(when I did my first study permit application which was denied due to insufficient funds in my account). The biometrics and UCI was linked to my application after my online submission.

Raised the first web form: July 17, 2022.
Got a standard response: August 4, 2022

Raised the second web form: September 19, 2022.
Raised the third web form: October 14, 2022
Raised the fourth web form: October 20, 2022.
Got a standard response for the October 14th web form: October 22, 2022.

I’ll start sending emails now instead of web forms.

You need to be patient with IRCC, they like to take thier time

All these webforms will be mentioned in your GCMS notes and whoever picks your application will see it as desperation since it's a visit visa.

I guess you will hear from them soon because I applied in may and my application has just being treated.

I wish you the best .

Thanks for the advice and info. I really appreciate.
Actually, I got an admission offer in the U.K. which was suppose to commence next month, I included the offer letter in the application and in one or two of the web forms, I attached the receipt of my tuition fee deposit. The plan was to visit and spend 2 weeks with my girlfriend who already has her Canadian visa and is coming from the U.S. and then come back to prepare for my program which starts next month. Their delay is affecting my plans and I have to defer the admission until next year.

My brother got his decision envelope today. He applied in February via paper route. A note was in the decision envelope that says something like “we are aware that you might need your passport for emergency travel, we have decided to return your passport but we are still processing your application. Once we need a passport we would request that you submit your passport at the VFS office”

Please do you get any response about this application, I have same issues

At last, I got my passport from VFS. The slip from Canadian Embassy says" Your application is still in progress while your passport is being returned to you. You will be required to resubmit your passport if required. "
After 10 months. It's well.

Please do you get any response about this application, positive or negative??I have same issues

You mean you defer your admission because of canada tourist visa to meet ur girlfriend in canada but with passport request you can pick canada visa any vfs worldwide even in uk if visa is granted. My friend apply for canada tourist visa while in nigeria and later pick in usa after months when visa was granted and she already resume studying in usa ..it a tourist visa and ircc is not under any urgency to treat ur application even you send letter daily it just create a bad reputation of you it not even wife you going to meet or a family member or any serious urgency that cannot be postpone . Ircc is currently attending more to student application backlog that has to resume in january or resume date past already not tourist applicant that is not prioprity to ircc or under any visa application worldwide atleast canada has no express processing fee like uk . Oga abeg go contiune ur studies ur girlfriend contiune her life so let urs continue tooo ..canada visa go still land so relax and drink patient water..goodluck

Please guys, I applied for a canada visit visa to attend a conference on the old portal since 2020. Since I didn’t get any response, I reapplied again for visit visa in February this year using the New portal.

In August i tried to withdrew/cancel my application because have already left the country. Today i got Biometrics Validity Letter but the Eligibility ain’t started yet. Do I still have hope for PPL or something?
Many thanks

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Creativebelle: 2:35pm On Oct 27, 2022
I want to believe if you package your application well and follow due process...you will get it..get a regional health authority in Canada, get a hospital, pay deposits, write your statement of purpose, attach financial and home ties..attach all documents attachable..I don't know how far gone you are..if you are still in your first trimester..you can give it a try..back it up with follow up emails and webforms...Your application might just be the game changer "birthing in Canada"needs
If not,you can try Barbados..but you need a UK ,USA or even Canada visa to transit into Barbados but UK is your best bet...its the most common and you get your visa fast .For UK you need to show true intent of why you are going to Barbados, pay your deposits and must have booked a flight ,also your statement of account to show you have sufficient funds .
Barbados consulate are very responsive..you can give them a call..also search for hospitals ,they give your their quotes depending on the bed space you want.
I know all this cos I tried in 2020 but Mr Covid came and the rest is history.. best wishes
