Well done sir.

Your progress is inspiring. I started a small snail garden about 2 months ago using 2 tyres and wild snails. Although I don't have time to maintain them (24 snails), I still feed them with lettuce & bell peppers left over from the farm.

From your post, I learnt they need calcium supplement. I might crush some egg shells and feed them with it.

Great work. Maybe I should start a thread on vegetable cultivation
I will advice that you don’t start with wild snails, their production will be low as they are not used to being in captivity.

i just started the farm so I can’t say… I bought the feed 2500/5kg from the farmer, tho it might be cheaper in the market. I’m still a novice in this, you should contact professionals if you want to go commercial.

Can I get your digits bro?

After 5 years of procrastination, I finally decided to take action today.

Good day my people, please follow on my snail farming journey. I will be building a mini green house for my snails but first and foremost I will be planting some vegetables and crops before introducing the snails.

Follow me as I construct the green house.
Are you in Ilorin by chance?

My makeshift incubator.
Sincerely I don’t really have to incubate the eggs, but the snails broke an egg the last time I went to check on the previous clutch of eggs

How do you know the hatching temperature range to regulate the incubator for hatching?

they do not require any specific temperature to hatch, not too hot, not too cold, away from sunlight. Moist loamy soil…. That’s the perfect simulation of the garden temperature

I don't subscribe to the soil treatment idea. This is because snails grow everyday in the wild untreated soil. They grow and do very well without any soil treatment and in spite of millions of ants in the bush. Can someone justify the idea of treating soil please?
These snails are hybrids particularly artificial source not natural source that has been designed to live under any condition.
Just like the agric chicken that needs some form of care and feeding, isolated environment just to adjust for the needed time or start same goes with these.
