The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo has proscribed all forms of levies on wheelbarrow pushers, hawkers and vulcanizers in the State.

Governor Soludo announced this, Wednesday, in post on his verified Facebook page.

He said that his government is committed towards ensuring that the poorest of the poor and privileges get protection.

The statement read: “As a government, we are determined to ensure the greater good for the greater number of our people. Part of this includes ensuring that the poorest of the poor gets protection and privileges from government as they go about wrestling positive livelihoods.

“To this end, we have proscribed all forms of levies on wheelbarrow pushers, hawkers and vulcanizers. If anything, they deserve all the support they can get from us at all times.

“All market unions across the State must take note and ensure full compliance to this directive,” he said.

Alaba boys and other Igbo business men need to relocate back to the yeast to help Solodu raise Anambra IGR.

Imagine Alaba market alone contributes 75% of all Lagos IGR which stands at over #700bn naira annually.

The Developers need to go back to their roots and turn Alaigbo into the envy of the world.

Soludo has to be very careful with his tax policy.
He needs all the cash that he can get to prosecute his projects but a heightened load of taxes will risk alienating him from the masses. Obviously, Anambra needs to jack up her IGR. But phasing in some of these increases in a very skillful way should be the way to forward. Too much changes that burdens the population can elicit angry reactions. And he should stop the security agencies from killing Igbo youths in the name of fighting for the Unity of Nigeria! Unity gbakwaa ôkû dia.. Unless they're criminals, otherwise no Igbo youth should be killed to keep this monumental disaster of a country running..

Should Solodu legalize baby factories and tax each sale at 30% rate inclusive of VAT?

Operators can obtain a licence at a flat rate which will include having 6 breeding sows. additional sows will attract an additional fee per sow.

Lagos state as rich as it is, even that small pure water u are selling, they want to kill u ontop of it with tax, Tinubu comes and says he wants to widen tax net.

I saw in Benin City when I visited there last year August. They were taxing a woman selling fruits and an aboki shoemaker. I didn't know it was happening elsewhere.

That is how it is in developed countries, very low income earners are not taxed. If the main purpose of collecting tax is to help the very poor in the society, why would it make sense to also tax them.
