Na wa for this Chinese people. My prayer is that they don't overtake the US, otherwise the world will be in trouble. They don't respect human rights

Don't worry.
Those who dislike the United States will see what they have never seen before.
A country that is not democratic and has no respects for the human rights of anyone....
That is the country that will herald the end of days when they become the apex predator.

Nigeria has had several oil windfalls from the 70s to the 90s we have wasted it
Today we either blame America or we blame Jews conspiracy
I pity for blackman and his lack of sense

You don't build a country with oil windfall. The problem with oil windfalls is that they are used to import and import, and the government stops supporting manufacturing at home.

That's why Gahddafi lost against the West. He had an oil windfall...and used it to import weapons from his enemies...instead of building a domestic Libyan industry. Same for Saudi Arabia.

What we should have done would have been to use the oil windfall to build up our power, transport, and petroluem sector...while refusing to spend money on subsidsing anything....this would have made domestic manufacutring and industry cheaper, and generated more jobs, and made us a producer, not a consumer.

Forget oil windfall...it works for oil producers who have populations lower than 40-50 million people. It does not work for too large countries like Nigeria...we need a diversified economy.

Having Police station or post in another country is not a bad thing, as long as the crime committed by their citizens is not a crime in the land they reside.

If a Chinese man commit murder in Nigeria, he or she needs to be punish under the Nigerian laws. If he commit offence or crime against his on country e.g by posting fake news online against his/her country to damage the country reputation then, he can be punish or arrested by their police post force. As long as their laws does not supersede the country of residence laws, so be it.

Their law, their punishment, their problem.

Modify: FORGET HUMAN RIGHT!

All humans are not equal. A US citizen can commit offence in one country and the government can asked the country to release him/her so as to serve jail term in the US, but a Nigeria government can not request for her citizen to come serve jail term in Nigeria. So, where is the equality in the world.

Are you normal?

You embezzle oil windfall i imagine
Like a typical small mind high on theory and low on commonsense
I am talking about how your leaders embezzled monies realized from oil sale that would have gone into critical infrastructure like durable roads , hospitals (we are agreed on that)

Thier leaders refused to be subservient to the West, hence the rapid development.

Their leaders also spent a lot investing in education, and in technical education, and also promoted industry...because China does not have any oil or resource to export and share revenue among its large population.

That is why Japan, South Korea, and even Germany are developed. They are , along with China, resource poor countries. So, either they focus on industry and tech, and science, and educaiton...or they effing starve to death.

Africa's problem is that we think we have resources galore, and that we can make a living by exporting them, and sharing the revenue, which we use to import. We also use the same revenue to fund subsidies (in the west subsides are funded by heavy taxation, and even then, they are only for the really really poor...not for everyone like we do here)...and the problem with resources is that prices are not where we want them to be because everyone is producing the same thing.

We should have used our resources to make things the world needs...that is how to develop. That is why china is developed. Also, the Chinese allow capitalism to run amok...the thing that most of us Africans despise. Sadly if you want to incentivse development...people have to be allowed to make a profit.

Quit with the blame game
Nobody put a gun to African leaders head

Did Sani abacha who was acting like a strong man against the west not steal money and hide in the same west
Stop looking for excuses
Nobody is stopping african leaders from building durable roads, hospitals, universities etc

Grow up please, there is no where where I said that corruption and embezzlement is ok.

The problem with relying on oil, is that oil prices fluctuate. From 1982-2006, oil prices internationally were low. For Nigeria that meant decades of brokeness...until 2006 when prices rose to a level where we could pay off our debts to some ectent..till April 2014...when oil fell again till December this year.

And when prices are too low...loans have to be taken.

We are broke largely because we rely on a resource whose price 60% of the time is too low for us to sustain ourselves. Then when the thieves come in and start stealing...the situation gets worse.

So, either you keep on relying on resources, and suffering when their prices are low....or you develop your own industries to export usable goods for the world, and earn far more money than just selling oyel.

Hope you get it. And once you are running an industrial economy, nothing much for corruption. Because corruption hinders such an economy from working. That is why industrial countries have low corruption. compared to Naija.

Did you fritter away your windfall when you had it?
Yes or no
Thats the base of the issue

as a country you build from bottom up
When first world countries are talking. Nigerians will jump in with their unsolicited advice but they dont have power, running water, broken roads etc
That's my position. Eveything else can come later

All that you have said is but garbage! You enter a sovereign nation and establish your own system there without due consultation with that country is illegal and disrespectful. Don't you know if not checked, with time the "police service stations" will grow into something else ?
