When Ojukwu declared Biafra, he did it with the power of the state. No non-state actor can give you a country, it is not possible in Nigeria.

Indeed. This is the reason I am a fan of regionalism. More practical and legally feasible since we have hosted it before.

Secession is outlawed by the Nigerian constitution and those not ready to be on their own will vehemently resist others leaving.

They would have the legal upper hand as well.

Whereas regional governance keeps Nigeria one but simply devolves more autonomy to respective regions thus giving Yorubas a good degree of control over our own lives and progress.

We Yorubas should not get negatively and obdurately obsessed about a name as Igbos got obsessed with the concept of Biafra to the extent they have been unable to move on progressively, in a political sense, since the sixties.

Wise men always have a plan B. In a regional government we can host our own police force and independent control over issues like mining, intellectual property, human resources development, healthcare, education, socio-economic policies etal.

It is the next best thing to secession we know will be vehemently resisted and perhaps ultimately impossible to gain barring the inclusion of a secession clause in our constitution.

The unprecedented level of violent personal abuse that Tinubu has been subjected to, mostly by people of a certain region, has quietly awaken greater support for Tinubu.

Up until a couple of months ago, Tinubu couldn't be certain of getting up to 60% of SW votes. But the vitriol aimed at him by some people is beginning to cause previously uninterested Yorubas to want to vote for him.

Some are even wishing fervently that the man would die. Over what na, ordinary elections? when there are other candidates you can choose to vote form.

The tide of sentiment is certainly turning in Tinubu's favour in the SW.
