Your claim is false inaccurate and misleading. The name Nigeria is far far many decades older than the name Bayelsa. Names like Osun , Lagos , Oyo etc can claim to be older than Nigeria but definitely not the name Bayelsa which was coined recently and formalised by Late Gen. Abacha.

I didn't use the word 'name', please be guided. Bayelsa represent communities and it's those communities that predates NIGERIA. I didn't refer to the 'name' NIGERIA but the entity NIGERIA. Before colonialism there was nothing like Eastern region or NIGERIA. The communities were independent and semi independent entities.

I am not an authority on how old yenogoa, Nembe and Sagbama are but I will not be surpeised if they are of same period as when Flora Shaw coined Nigeria from Niger River. The word Niger is very very old too

Some had their names challenged others retained theirs till date. The land where Eko is, is where Lagos is, the Land where Benin kingdom was hasn't changed because it is in Edo state or the colonial name NIGERIA.

I get your point about Nigeria as a nation . The reality also is that the latin form of the word Nigeria had existed several centuries even before Fora Shaw anglicized it. It is a word to describe all the region of west Africa around the River Niger. So if you want to describe full address of say Lokoja, you describe it as located in Nigritarum which in English means Nigeria but it was not as a country then.
I believe you can see that Nigeria is even older than some of those communities. Eko is young in history such that Oto in Ebute meta is older than it and Isheri olofin is older than Oto so Eko may not even be older than Nigritarum. Let us just study more

The problem with Nigerian government and handling natural disasters is poor management and data analysis, if this happened in 2012 and then happened again in 2022, that's a 10 years cycle occurrence, so we should probably be expecting this again in 2032 and start preparing ahead of time, they should also look at yearly rainfalls back to about 50 years ago and draw data from it and start drawing data from this year and see the pattern before 2032, all the information gathered could help to prevent or reduce the impact of such disasters...
