Present Governor of CBN is a Mistake, but this is Nigeria where you have to think multiple times before making Decisions.

He's kept there for quota system sake. PMB has got to please SE/SS Region with first class Appointment, since rest juicy positions are locked down by SW and North.

Emefiele is not stúpid. Even someone with a basic BSc in economics will know how to use foreign reserves to defend a currency. The koko is whether he has enough Foreign Reserves to cover the next few months of imports. Letting the Naira freefall is a worrying sign that he does not, especially as NNPC is not backfilling his reserves.

I just looked at Nigeria's forex position and official figures says $38bln which is normal range and enough to defend the Naira at the very least from the last week of mayhem. But another unconfirmed report is saying the true picture is only $15bln which may go somewhere to explaining the inaction over the last week of freefall.

This still comes back to Nigeria's inability to prevent oil theft which has seen oil production halve since 2015, reducing our ability to earn forex. If that $15bln forex picture is correct, then this may just be the start of a monumental slide

Official rate still less down 450 to a dollar. The problem has always been black market. I really hope there is a way to regulate BDC transactions.

Politics is really bad. States that have been ravaged by terrorists with citizens that are refugees in their country will still turn out to vote the party that failed to secure them. I can't understand it. They talk like Aboki sells dollar at different rate for APC members
Hopefully we start putting Nigeria first

Yeah, the blackmarket premium is because they stopped servicing currency traders with dollars from the reserves which amounts to the same issue. Sanusi tried that in his time and reversed it when it caused issues. Those BDCs need to be given liquidity to stabilise things, but it seems CBN doesn't have enough to provide. I don't know who still gets official rate, maybe Dangote and some special people, but this should be the widest gap between both rates since Abacha times.

I believe all of us here are educated. I also believe we are not dunce and fully understand reason Naira crashing against Dollar.

We may not be in Nigeria, but we know what's going on around the globe. Inflation is biting hard everywhere in the world. So many currencies are crashing against Dollar.

Ghana Economy is on life support now. Same Ghana many of you rated so high against Nigeria few months ago. Ghanaians would be back in drove to Nigeria with their sac-bags .

Egyptians Economy is in comatose at the moment. They've ran back to IMF to get fresh loans, alas! It's only Nigeria feeling the hit of economy meltdown.

Make una no worry. We'll vote una MCM that studied MMM at Havard.

grin you wish. We are laden with debt but we have a projected increase of exports soon to cushion that. But it should be noted that both our leaders are clueless.

Technically we need to fix our economy, boost our export to save Naira. Please watch this clip and tell if his plans are viable or not.

Politics aside, I hope we can deliberate on his plans with fairness.

Osinbajo publicly asked CBN to stop artificially propping up the Naira only last year.

The below is why. Whilst you guys are complaining about current exchange rate, CBN spent 3 billion dollars in 2 months this year to even keep it from getting worse.

Does that sound sustainable to you?

Tribe and religion did us an evil thing.

Bolsonaro I'm sure did not do 10% of the havoc in Brazil and see how they discharged him after one term. So the idea of APC doing another 8 years after the catastrophe they have done so far is insane to me.

I just don't understand this flaw that makes people support someone they know is not an ideal candidate solely over tribe or religion. Look at this dude below for example. Sounds fairly sensible on other topics but once the matter is APC/Tinubu he loses all logic

Look at him here basically admitting that Northern Muslims don't consider him and other Southern Muslims Muslim enough. Another Muslim has to run with him to give him legitimacy. What kind of House nigga mindset is that? He's aware of this and made peace with it to the point where he can even defend it.

He doesn't even have the discernment to realize that an Obi winning would mean a Southern Muslim/Northern muslim combination does not guarantee anything and in the future a Southern Muslim can as well collaborate with a Northern Christian and aspire to be president. But when you reason like a House Nigga even with a chance to be free you will not embrace it

It's even funny that this decision showed the stupidity of Tinuke..
Since you wanted to already Bleep up the whole balance of things, why not just go ahead and pick someone like EL Rufai.
Now he picked a kanuri man who is small.. And even the NE isn't looking good for apc grin
