Soludo Orders Arrest Of Two Anambra Billionaires over State’s Revenue Diversion

Barring any change of orders, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra state has ordered the immediate arrest of some prominent citizens of Anambra state over flying revenue windows in their control if they refuse to appear before the Chairman, flying revenue committee, Anambra State and Deputy Governor of Anambra state by Wednesday this week, Anambra Current News reports.

The order to arrest some of these prominent citizens including Chief Ngozika Okpagu and Mr Akai Egwuonwu came about following government suspicion that they allegedly divert revenue accruals to the state government over the last 8 years.

The government is worried over tax diversion in some quarters in the last 8 years and wished to unravel some of the mysteries, hence the decision to go after the untouchables in the state.

Sources close to Governor Soludo informed newsmen that the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim who doubles as the Chairman of the committee on flying revenue has been briefed to invite all those managing flying revenue windows in Anambra assumed as untouchables on Wednesday November 2nd, 2022 at the Deputy Governor’s conference hall , Government House Awka.

For Akai Egwuonwu, who is the MD Zara stores Awka, and proponent of Anambra Rice, Soludo wants to know why ‘Anambra rice ‘concept and branding has been personalized and discover if he pays any taxes and revenue to the state for such branding and business.

Chief Ngozika Okpagu on his part is being summoned to explain why he is operating a park at Onitsha south, Fegge. He is expected to show evidence of payment to Anambra state internally generated revenue for his businesses in the last 8 years.

So many others are also being invited for interview on flying revenue windows in the state.

OdogwuBlog

This Ngozi Okpagu, the same one Morocco sang highly of is definitely one of the thugs who had taken residence in our treasury. This guy is very mean, deadly and dangerous. The man is the king of agbero at Onicha. You stand in his way you are dead!

This move by Soludo shows how serious he is with cleaning our revenue collection drive.

I applaud Soludo for his fearlessness, courage and political will.

Omanbala ga amakalisi!!

Good news! I've always reckoned that, but for the thieving thugs who have been pocketing a lot of the internally generated revenue that should have been going into the state treasury, that such a cosmopolitan, commercial and industrial centre that Anambra is could easily return at least 5 billion naira IGR per month!

I'm sure this problem of touts and thugs pocketing revenue meant for local, state or regional gov'ts is as old as the period of the former Eastern Region, and knowing how stubborn and headstrong we Ndigbo can be atimes, it can only take a Governor with a strong resolve to put an end to illegal revenue collection in our states!

Also, Governor Soludo shouldn't take any chances with his security! These thugs he's facing are now billionaires off of their criminality, and they didn't get where they are today by being nice, law abidding citizens!

I'd also advice Abia state gov't to take some tips from how Anambra is handling this issue and replicate it in Aba!

Dirty aboki, I’ve told you to mind your plateau state because all you do is manufacture and spread fake news in Anambra which you have never stepped foot for the last 10 years. Focus on your state and leave Anambra alone. If Soludo wants to investigate Anambra IGR he will investigate the liar declaring 300 million per month as IGR.

lgboland going down.....

Our land is getting worse by the day.
It is casting by the hour. No one is asking pertinent questions? Where are those prisoners released all over lgboland and unleashed on the land? The horror going on in our land is under-reported. And no one is speaking out. CriminaIs are now in control. Many lgbo are staying back in Lagos and other regions they reside in, many that would not have left our land are running out to Lagos, mostly SW region and other regions. Our land was once the safest land for us. But not anymore. It has been turned into a living heII. We were already marginalised and now our own people are marginalising us 1000 times more and making life unbearable for us hiding under dubious means that no one is able to control as criminals will never stop whatever means they use in making filthy cash.

No one is gonna come to our rescue. If you think anyone is gonna come to our rescue you are mistaken. Many love what we are doing to one another. One wrote, 'they claim to be wise, so let them wise it out with themselves until they finish themselves. They should not bring that their madness near our own side, it should remain in their land'. We must find a way to collect our land back from those that came only to destroy us and make us objects of mockery all over this nation and beyond, forcing us to run from our land and making many stay off our land. If something is not done, these our people destroying our land will hold sway and we will not see an end to it in this lifetime.

And know this, even if you hail them online or one of those that used to hail them, when they operate in various parts of our land, they don't know who is who, as basically all the criminaI cells have cued up to take advantage of the porous crime-laden enviroment created to form their own crimininaI teams and terrorise us. You are not safe either, none of us are, and no one is safe except maybe some of our owns abroad encouraging them to continue terrorising us. As long as they don't come home.

Right now, international organisations are not considering our land for any program due to insecurity. And our type of insecurity is worse because those terrorizing us live amongst us. While in other places with security issues, they live outside the residential zones.

We are already known for massively migrating to other regions while neglection our homeland, we were managing as they will come home and some will come often which will add to our economy. Now that heII has been let loose in our land, who wan come again? how many wan come again? If we rarely invested in our land before the mayhem, na now them go come invest? And who go get mind tell any lgbo now to go home and invest? Not even me that used to be the foremost advocate of Think Home.

Solution: Please, how do we get our land back from these criminaIs? What do you believe is the 1st step we should take, what should the governors do, what should FG do? What should our communities do? Your contributions will go a long way.

I am not unaware that many Igbo are afraid to speak their true mind on this matter. But we must say something, do something, about it or we will not have a homeland of our own in the near future. Keeping quiet and pretending all is well to avoid incurring the wrath of our traducers and oppressors won't curb it. It will only embolden them.

We need to help each other and curb this before it becomes irreparable. Thank you all.

All of them are mgbidi boys. Worst mistake on earth is for a state to border the wrong set of people. They have been pushed back so they now prefer to operate on the fringes of the state destroying properties and terrifying students.

GOVERNOR SOLUDO COMMENDS THE RISING PROFILES OF NDI ANAMBRA ACROSS THE GLOBE

By Christian ABURIME

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has continued to applaud the rising profiles of Ndi Anambra excelling in their various professions abroad.

The latest are the appointments of the Anambra Nnewi-born, Mr. Dalu Ajene who has been appointed by South African Rand Merchant Bank as the Chief Executive Officer, to lead the Investment Affairs of Rand Merchant Bank, Nigeria

Also is the appointment recently of Dr Akolisa Ufodike who was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Trade, Immigration and Multiculturalism in Alberta, Canada. Dr Ufodike was born in Maiduguri, Nigeria, to the family of Colonel Leonard Ufodike and Ebele Ufodike of Umudim and Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra State

In the case of Mr Dalu Ajene, his appointment is being hailed as it is the major thrust of RMB, to attract investments and project financing which is also key to Governor Chukwuma Soludo's vision of building the Anambra liveable and prosperous smart mega-city.

In a special way, the Soludo-led administration therefore commends and celebrates this great feat by Mr. Dalu Ajene and Dr Akolisa Ufodike as great ambassadors of the State

Indeed, Anambra spirit is synonymous with excellence as once again demonstrated by the appointment of Mr Ajene by South Africans to lead RMB and Dr Ufodike as Deputy Minister in Alberta

It is hoped that by the appointment of Mr Ajene it will help facilitate greater foreign capital flows, as he also works toward delivering constructive solutions to leading businesses across critical sectors in Nigeria and Anambra in particular.

Before he was appointed as CEO of RMB, Dalu Ajene served as the head of Client Coverage at RMB in South Africa responsible for client origination teams in South Africa, Broader Africa, and the UK.

He was equally the Deputy CEO and Head of Investment Banking at RMBN, where he previously headed up the Corporate Finance business.

A holder of MBA in Finance and Strategy from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Dartmouth College, Dalu Ajene's 21 years experience has seen him execute over US$ 15 billion worth of advisory, capital markets, and financing transactions in several continents including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

On the other hand, Ufodike is expected to bring his experience as assistant professor at York University where he taught auditing at the undergraduate level, data analysis for performance audits and public sector finance at the graduate level. His research focused on accountability, public-private partnerships (P3's), Labour market integration, and equity, diversity and inclusion in business professions

Dr Ufodike, a graduate of Haskayne’s PHD and Cornell’s MBA programs, is a Canadian FCPA, a US CPA, a UK FCCA and a Certified Fraud (ICD.D) of the Institute of Corporate Directors

I just watched a video a vlogger did about traveling from Enugu to Ebonyi.
I was jaw-dropped to see that from the boundary of ENugu and Ebonyi to Abakiliki, the roads within Ebonyi were all in perfect condition, the one that does not too smooth were being worked on and the ones that are narrow are expanded.

I was elated that one state in SE is gettting it right. Now this is what we are talking about. My prayer is for Abia, Anambra, Enugu and Imo to take a cue. SE governors should put 80% energy into reconstructing roads in SE especially economic roads that connect SE/SS and the rest of Nigeria.

We just need good roads, the people can do the rest.

THis is why I get irritated when I see Igbos join others to castigate Umahi. Since 1999, no governor, I repeat, No Governor comes close to Dave Umahi.

I have high hopes for Soludo, I am sure he will deliver.

NB: If you have a fragile ego, please avoid my mention (although I know the other cursed clowns will mention me, oya cursed clown 1,2,3 go...).

Sorry, my Anambra peeps if you feel offended about me posting this year, please just take the message and ignore me. I just want us to see the bigger picture. It's not about state but the survival of Igbo land.

THis is what Chimamanda was talking about in NBA conference. In the bid to be seen as the peace keeper, we shadow the truth.

Every sensible Anambrarian should be angry with Obiano for leaving the roads in Anambra metropolis that way. Obiano yes succeeded in building the airport and the conference center true, but guy, if we juxtapose it with what little state like Ebonyi is doing you will realize that Obiano did not do well. I will score him 10/100

Perfect. Covid 19 slowed it down, but it's back with full force. Anambra rising, AlaIgbo rising !!!!

NwekereNdoki:

Shut up for once this aba pig, no one wants to see what you and your fellow clown IDENNAA says here. In your other foolish post your rated Obiano based on Airport and ICC. This one you are praising as alaigbo rising, is it the brainchild of your father, ewu. Obiano has tackled our major infrastructures while Soludo is now focusing on urban roads for now, at the end Anambra wins. Its what we mean by continuity, not your useless Abia that continues with uselessness from one governor to another with only one flyover in 30 years.
What do we rate your useless Abia Govs combined over 100?

You said it all. At times I wonder if all abia people are just mumus. They haven't got even one good governor since 1999
