This is what we must have a strong plan for going into 2023 elections. Voters Apathy may once again be used as a final card for corrupt politicians to have their way to victory by deploying armed thugs to attack peaceful voters or terrorize them enough to stop them from coming out to vote.

Let's be honest, using "fear" on Nigerians has always worked for these politicians. They will use thugs as they have always done... and Nigerians will always prefer their safety than to cast their votes... so they will rather stay at home on election day than come out to be attacked by thugs.

Sometimes when some politicians know an opposition candidate is dominating a polling unit, they will unleash these brutal thugs to disrupt the process by attacking voters.

Why are we not asking INEC questions. What are the measures in place for voters security and safety on election day?

What are we planning to do individually to ensure our safety?

What are we doing to ensure nothing will stop us from voting?

Having a valid PVC is useless if we cannot use it at the end of the day.

With the new electoral acts put in place, the use of BVAS and live updates of voting results been uploaded to InNEC server. Any polling unit with report of any form of violence will automatically be nullified.
They will be little of ballot snatchung this time around cos days of snatching boxes and going to one corner to tumbprint are over.

@ bolded... what if that becomes a strategy too? Let's assume a party is leading by more votes in a polling unit... oppositions can create violence so that it will be nullified. Simple logic

If you can monitor your poling unit very well most especially those ones in the streets because that is where 80% of their rigging are carried out. Put people that cannot be easily compromise with money, come early to your poling unit to recognize the faces of the and Inec official posted your poling unit. MC is the overall coordinator, but Koko Zaria, Sego, baba Alado are the ones that do the job on election day.

You made a valid point. I think this is a question we should direct to the INEC. Thugs might be used to disrupt an opponent's stronghold so INEC should be ready to reorganize the election should such a scenario occurs or better still fortify each polling unit by making sure there is a heavy presence of security forces. This is because if the electorates arm themselves to defend their polling units against these thugs, same security forces would see them as trouble makers. So INEC should play its card to everyone's satisfaction

let me tell you the truth. The army, police, naval personal and other security agents are all suffering the same bad economy that the common man is suffering. Don't ever think that they will stand idle and let some tinubu rifraf come in and scatter election like they use to.
Do you think a Northern security personnel will watch and allow tinubu thugs to spoil atiku votes? Atiku presence in the election is an advantage for peter obi because inec, security agents and even the president is playing neutral because the names involved are big names.

True... INEC too can also compromise their standards... maybe everything goes well, but note that INEC can be influenced by corrupt politicians, INEC can also use nullification of units due to organised violence to work-out their preferred winner. INEC is not independent after all.

so what are the plans on ground to stop him.

When I see how party supporters stress out to create good awareness of their preferred presidential candidate only to have it destroyed by thugs on election day.

If this is not addressed now, it will snowball into something unimaginable.
