was it "sleeping order" he gave the contractor before?

Just wait for Dangotes aboki drivers to destroy the road and turn it into their bedroom.

See what Dangotes aboki truck drivers did to Apapa Wharf - total destruction

The construction is already ongoing. Lagosians will be experiencing some gridlock around Eleko, Awoyaya down to Sangotedo side as a result of this. It's a sacrifice we have to bare but we will enjoy it in the long run.

That 6 lane is a scam bro. More like 4 lane because the last was design for Brt and they are not wide. Mehn if that port ever start. The kind traffic with trucks parking anyhow will be crazy and then touts every junctions will look like child's play. I see the same mistake happening. Those areas will be a mess.

6 lanes are enough.

If 2 were dedicated to Long Haul Vehicles

1 dedicated to public transport,

3 should be more than enough for private cars.
Lol what are you saying. Have you seen that road construction. 6 lane means 3 one side and 3 the other side(dual). . That Road is so small for an area with port and they even made the last lane for brt bus obviously. No good thinking for population in years ahead. They Keep making the same mistake over and over

If they start knocking down buildings to achieve yor proposal, hope you won't call it politically motivated.

I have lost my sense of infrastructural geography as concerning that whole place but excuse me sir, mr. Governor, let me ask something.
Where is this road from the port leading to.... back into Lagos... shocked through Lekki.... over that suspension bridge (that cannot carry load) or through Victoria Island?.... grin

When you put a Port on a Peninsula, meaning essentially one way in, one way out then you are asking serious questions.
I cannot for the life of me imagine container trucks passing through Ozumba Mbadiwe or Ikoyi.

I thought this port was meant to take the load north by east headed the Epe highway and out of Lagos, not back into Lagos through 'Ajebutter Land'... grin or they should have built a dedicated rail line over the Lagoon and back into Lagos or through that weather beaten 4th Mainland bridge proposal.

O'boy the decision to sell all my land in Lekki is prompt.... hmmm.

I stay in Abuja proper as we all know and I tell you the stories I hear about traffic coming in and going out of the city through the airport (yaradua) and the Kubwa expressways which are both ten lanes during rush hour is something else.

And Abuja is a fraction of the congestion of Lagos and practically has insignificant articulated vehicular movement.... due to very strict zoning laws and far less commercial activities... and yet..

Abeg just don't talk about the size of road when proposing to handle traffic in Nigeria. It just doesn't work here.

The problem with Nigeria is that money intended to be used to finance a project is usually split into two. Half is used for the project while half is embezzled.

Until we get past this stage we will never progress as we should. Only a man like Peter Obi will be able to stop things like this.

Vote for a Candidate that have you in mind not someone that has only he and his generation in mind.
Vote Peter Obi. A vote for Peter Obi is a vote you won't regret.

Obi can not win is a lie from the pit of hell. If they tell you a vote for PO is a waste kindly waste it on him and know you did the right thing than to vote for the other and be fighting with your conscience.

If you hate suffering I see no reason why you should still vote this same set of corrupt leaders. Only those who have something to gain would.

Shun tribal and religious sentiments and Vote wisely my people.
If all states in Nigeria steals just halfofthe money meant for projects like Lagos governors, then Nigeria will be in a better place. Why did people always look for ways to discredit performance when they see one and still cry foul when there in no performance at all. Must you complain?

That is not even what I am saying.
It is not as if the container trucks will offload at the toll gate or at Mobil. They are going into Lagos meaning they will cut through VI and/or Ikoyi (if this is permitted). Hmmm....

Traffic is like drainage. You can clean your 'doormut' but if your 'nebor' is dirty all of you will suffer. There are choke points all the way until the trucks will exit the island.

In my opinion trucks should not be permitted back into Lagos. That port should be used to service the rest of the country and the trucks should head in the direction of Epe and onto to Shag. Then Apapa can serve Lagos. My two cents.

Peter Obi that did not divide money for projects into two, how was the State after his tenure compared with other States with similar revenue and allocation?

Was his State better than Imo, Enugu, Abia, Edo etc during his time?

You need a 12 lane hwy, think beyond 5 years, think 25 years to come when population would have exploded.

Check out some freeways in US.
Na money dem go use build am o..
6 lane costs $1.2 billion. 12 would cost almost times too.. Where would they get over $2.4 billion from?

Igboslayer:
While this is good, I think Lagos state needs a a rail line to evacuate containers from the deep sea port to a dry port located in Epe or Ijebu Ode…routing and hauling containers through the streets of Ajah, Ikoyi, Obalende, Victoria Island, Lagos Island through carter bridge and third main land is a traffic disaster waiting to happen. Instead they should consider the Epe corridors connecting Ijebu Ode to the East, South and North.
Not just that.
The railway Buhari is building to Niger is to be connected to this Lekki seaport through the Lagos-Ibadan, Ibadan-Kano and Kano-Maradi rail.

Niger is a landlocked country and they import and export things through other coastal countries and not through Nigeria. So with this, Buhari is linking the railway all the way to Kano and then to Niger (read about the Lagos-Kano-Jibiya or LAKAJI corridor). That way, Niger would import and export through Lekki seaport making it more viable and boost FG revenues through export and import duties and taxes.

And he's also doing similar thing in the East by linking Bonny port in PH to maiduguri for the same reason.

So linking the port to "Epe or Ijebu Ode…routing and hauling containers through the streets of Ajah, Ikoyi, Obalende, Victoria Island, Lagos Island" is just a small part of the game.

Leaving home by 4 am and getting back home earliest by 10 pm is a hell of a sacrifice.
I wonder how married folks cope with life living in Awoyaya/Lakowe/Eputu/Bogije and working in Lekki/VI/Ikoyi.
That road, especially the most recent nonsense they did at Majek, is about to render me boyfriendless!
