I have never used a POS in my life and I pray it will remain so till I die. I have deactivated ALL my functional cards from ONLINE & POS usage. Even when I go to shoprite on or any store, I go handy with my cash. In the whole world, Nigerians brand of wickedness & dishonesty can never be matched or rivaled by any race or people. Even if I need cash and the distance from my location to the “Bank ATM points” is as far as Kilimanjaro, I will rather negotiate with an Okada rider to take me there, wait for me and then pay him triple of the usual fare. I once had a friend about 15years ago who told me that he had a cousin who was working at the Hilton in Abuja. And this guy with some of his colleagues at the Hilton would clone or copy the Credit or Debit card informations of EVERY customer that comes in and make payments with their Credit or Debit cards. I don’t know how they do it. Afterwards, they harvest these informations and use them to shop or cash out. Look, I am not trying to discourage anybody from using the POS in Nigeria, but I strongly advise you NEVER to link your main account to the card you’re using at the POS. I believe Prepaid cards are in order for this sort of transactions. The difference between being a victim and a survivor is often a low level of situational awareness. |

tiswell:Okay sir!!! I tried withdrawing 1000 naira I was debited but the POS displayed network error. Upon trying to reach the merchant ( because it was her staff that was available at the time of withdrawal) I got to realise some persons had tried to withdraw and are facing similar issues. With the information those persons passed to me; they complained about how rude her response was over the phone .... |
