Was Obasanjo an Igbo man when Igbo people voted for him?

2007, Southeast voted for Yar Adua, Fulani man.

But Awolowo later joined forces with Nigerian government and work against Biafra even after calling Nigeria a MERE GEOGRAPHICAL EXPRESSION and not a country.
