I bought a Samsung smart TV recently and the HDMI port is 1.4 and the picture quality is not that great
I searched online and i found out that with Ultra high hdmi the tv resolution will change to 4k
I asked 2 ppl selling cable already and there reply is that it cannot change or else my TV is 4k
So i want to ask if anyone here know how I can go about it

Is your TV 4k. If yes get a good HDMI and make sure the content you are trying to view is also 4k.

NO. HDMI cannot change your 240p/360p/480p/720p/1080p resolution to 4k. It only makes your tv screen output high digital display.
As far as Africa is concerned,where data is still a big deal unlike developed countries who enjoys true unlimited data, 99% of 4k Tv bought here will never ever have a taste of that 4k resolution till the TV back up.
Many consumers are so ignorant of what 4k TV entails,they see a new TV model with superb specs and they buy because they have the money.
Your 4k TV will not produce 4k resolution to you automatically,unless the cable channel you watching runs on 4k,which as at today is none. Even in US, their channels,both local and international run on 720p and 1080p.
Two,the content you're playing, either on DVD or USB or YouTube or other streaming channels must be in 4k , before your 4k Tv will give you 4k resolution output.
And the last time I check you need about 15gb to watch a 1hr content that's in 4k on YouTube,you need about 45gb to download some 4k content that runs for just an hour. How many people who owns 4k Tv can use 45gb to download a single 4k movie? Like I said,just 1%, and I'm been magnanimous .
So chill, enjoy your 4k tv with the lower resolution.
