Two things I didn't expect from arsenal before the world cup break

1... Arsenal topping the league and Man city with 5pts
2.. Odegaard being our highest goalscorer with 6 goals

Also, there's something about our attack that's unique in the league

Odegaard - 6 goals
Jesus - 5 goals
Martinelli - 5 goals
Saka - 4 goals
Xhaka - 3 goals

I once said that If our front 5 can give us 14 goals each, it'll be better than if only one person(or striker) is scoring regularly while the rest are single digits. With the way this is going, I won't be surprised if all front 5 each have 10+ goals each.

This is what makes us stronger, fluid and dangerous cos it's easier for opposition defenders to mark out 1 or 2 dangerous attackers compared to 5 dangerous attackers.

I'm just loving this team everyday and I say Arteta, thank you very very much!!!

I agree wholeheartedly with Paul Merson here. I can't name a single best player so far. This is exactly how I love my team to be cool
Remove partey and put awilo, the match he didn't play we lost even after dominating
Can you still name the player or not

I think Partey’s work rate in this new Arenal team is not really appreciated... I mean check the outcome of the games we’ve played with Partey and the ones we’ve played without him.

Remove Xhaka and put Awilo as Partey partner , how many things do you think Partey will do , then watch how he will willingly pray for injury.

The message is not to undermine any particular player but to prove that everyone is doing marvelously well in their Job description.

I agree with Merson honestly

this was what Wenger’s team goal distribution style looked like. Everybody scores. Unlike the setup during Emery that if Auba doesn’t score we are toast.

Arsenal fans need to chill
There’s still 24 games left
Arsenal FC hasn’t played 5 clubs in the EPL yet
West Ham
Everton
Man City
Brighton
Newcastle

It would be great if they get 12 points out of a maximum 15 points.
But I feel they will lose 2 & draw 1 out of the 5
That’s 7 out of 15 points

Sambi is 3rd choice DM so it's expected to experience a drop in quality

I can say, replace Ramsdale with Hein
Replace Saka with Marquinhos

You get the point?

We are not talking about squad depth here but how exceptional each first team members perform in their roles. You wouldn't wanna trade Xhaka this season for anyone presently, would you? Saliba? Saka? Martinelli?

I wouldn't cos all are very exceptional that you wouldn't wanna say one performed very excellently well than the other.

Exactly.
I'm always having palpitations the day Auba will be off form.

Now, someone is just having peace of mind knowing fully well we have goalscorers everywhere

Yeah, true..... What Merson is saying is that he's indirectly praising all our players for playing at an elite level that have been hardly seen before. It's not like before that only one or two players would play a very high level and the rest 9 will be doing catch up.

Like you said, he's not comparing them but indeed praising them

Sambi played 2 matches and lost 1(winning one). He's a third choice and third choice for a reason.

If you didn't understand the answer from that quote you quoted, then I don't know how well to explain it again embarassed

How about Man Utd & Brighton ?

However, I was talking about the first 19 games & not the second round of games

Newcastle are that good.
The only game they lost was to liverpool and it was controversial.
Even without their attacking No 10 ASM,.they are playing very well.
Their defence is also tight.
They played Mancity off the park at tyneside,
Mancity especially KDB had to dig deep to salvage a draw 3-3.
They are just playing like arsenal.
However our winning mentally is more ingrained than theirs.
Don't forget they went for Bruno Guamires that we wanted to buy.
And they have Arab oil money too.
They just falter under some mid tables teams like crystal palace, west ham for a draw rather than a win

Bro..you're right. What is surprising is that they don't have the players... I mean they are 3rd with players like Willock and Almiron.

And as for the Arab money, that's scary. Arsenal should look for her own sugar daddy too before clubs leave us for trenches grin grin
Heard Liverpool is on sale.

They got a good coach and bought some quality players with heavy spending and salaries. However I don't believe that model will last beyond a couple of years.

They are quite formidable.

Their weakness this season may be their bench. If for any reason the lose two or three key players, they are done.

The winner here is Arteta.

I am glad we took the risk with him. He has learned his ropes and we're lucky to have him.

I remember years ago when he wanted to join and some of us felt he was too inexperienced for a big club like Arsenal; my response was that we have to get him as I see him as the next big thing after Pep. Having trained at Barcelona, Everton under Moyes, under Wenger and as an assistant to Pep. Again, for Pep to have such confidence in him to make him his assistant you know he's got something.

Pep says he's a monster and I believe him.

Lie?

Isn't 70m and 50m heavy spending for a midtable team? Those are fees meant for the top six.

Besides they have been spending for like three years now. So don't get over your self.

They are not mid table
They were never mid table
Btw 120m isn't big spending for so called mid table
Forest spend over 100m this season that's over spending for a relegation club

Top 6 clubs spend over 250m each

You said over 3 years what is the price tag Wilson how much
Woods how much
Willock how much
Pope how much
These 4 no pass 100m

If Newcastle are not midtable then what are they, top 6? Do you even know what's meant by midtable?

When you take a look at net spend you know what I am talking about. They buy and not sell. Usually, for a club in their class in terms of performance in the last 5years that spending big. That's also why they are attractive. Players like Trippier, Guimares, Willock, Joelington etc moved there because they saw some prospects.

The second other point is that they have a good coach in Eddie Howe.

As for Nottingham Forest, they are just coming off lower leagues and will need to spend some more and still keep their best players to have a shot to higher positions.

I agree Howe is a good coach if any English man will win the league
I am looking at him but the spending of Newcastle I still don't agree
They released old players and got new one just the way we released fringe players
They even have the richest sugar daddy in town and they have not spent at all
But you claimed they spent heavily and their salaries too I no gree o
