Some of us have parents who worked in professional field abroad in the 1980s and I can tell you their salary never crossed £10k, at least by the mid-80s. Average house price in UK was £30k in 1988, and someone is telling you that at the same time, Deloitte was giving him $850k in bonus alone, when he is not even a partner.
