The peer pressure currently is just too much, people mmentality is that traveling is the best option, my pat er stated giving me pressure to move out of the country too at the other end am not seeing that as an achievement I mean she expect me to leave a job I created by myself 6years ago in nigeria that is currently fetching me at least 2-3m monthly to japa, if I do will loose all customers because the job is competitive, and for over 6year now I work from home, lose that kind of job and go to Uk as in what kind of job will fetch me 2-3m monthly savings in the Uk, the skills I have is only plumbing work skills i most do that as a side job in nigeria here I only attend to big job, japa is not for everyone you people should stop looking at it as a big achievement… and stop calculating you earning In naija just to say that you better off over there… peace ☮️ |

planetx:Well our ancestors also didn't give them permission before they invaded our land and messed up the continent in the name of colonialism. And then they invaded middle East and turned the region into Harvard of terrorism just because of oil. I'm not sure that poor kid in Iraq and Syria gave them the permission to bomb their home to pieces. Karma they say is a bitxh, it fvcks u where and when least expected. Europe is gone, America is next with Hispanic invasion. I have no single pity to give. U can't sow barley and expect wheat. Let them feel what other race have been dealing with in the name of global expansion. |

When I jam bastard money, that is what I'm gonna do. Rental income from property in Ikoyi may even struggle to match rental income from just one store in a mall at Yaba. |

BreconHills:Your success anywhere in the world is dependent on your grit and growth mindset mentality. I put it to you that earning 700k in the Nigerian space (with insecurity, poor health care and shi..tty infrastructure) and going all out to hustle to the top in the UK . The UK would still be a better choice except you don’t know your onion |

Shutupthere:Why 700k. Why make that a limit I attended secondary and university there and worked in the City- top 5 law firm. But if I am not going to make partner or managing partner, I will leave. Its not just about money and living in a new dev with a BMW. It's about being influential at the highest level. Apart from one or two rare blacks - the glass ceiling is still there. But if the dream is for life in a new development and a flash car. Why not? It wasn't enough for me and today with every humility it's worked out. |

Sometimes I wish I had a gutter filled mouth, you deserve some real insults for this trash you just wrote. Nigeria is not just a shithole. A shithole seems like heaven compared to this place. |

tarantino1:Thats why they’re building robots to replace humans, they are not desperate that they will allow less evolved beings to fill to their country. Their citizens are among the smartest in the world. Remove your mind from that country. Japanese people don’t even acknowledge the presence of foreigners white or black, they won’t even look you in the eye while speaking. If you enter a restaurant to eat with a Japanese friend, they will only talk to the Japanese, ask them what you want to eat. Even if you speak perfect Japanese, they will act like they’re deaf. Asians will never be immigrant friendly. Not to talk of Japanese people. They will destroy the whole world before they let less evolved beings come into their country to pollute it. A place where they are no even trash cans on the street talking of trash, a place where people build robots. Those people are almost gods. They are too advanced, even White people are idiots to them. |

Maysdevices:It is. Even Canadians are complaining. Do you have an idea of how many Canadians are even leaving and emigrating away from Canada? Just today in UK a woman committed sucide by jumping on the rail track with her daughter and was crushed to death because the inflation made her unable to pay bills. Life isn’t easy anywhere faa. That doesn’t mean Canada or UK ain’t better than Nigeria right now but it’s what it is. |
| Re: Why There Is No Point Going To The Uk Again by Maysdevices(f): 9:08pm On Nov 17, 2022 |
sokeril:They’re migrating not because of the same reasons Africans migrate. Don’t kid yourself. . If I didn’t have family members who begged to feed but are now millionaires and telling us Canada is heaven. Their favorite phrase is ‘Don’t worry, just come to Canada’. I might have believed your ignorance. I don’t even live like I’m in Nigeria because of the money my two uncles send to me. These are men that lived in my father’s house, wearing his clothes because they were hopeless. *Schooling is free up until university level *The Canadian government gives you an allowance for each of your children every month, your pets also qualify in some cases *During the pandemic, they gave each other citizens thousands of dollars to manage the lockdown, they also gave them money to take care of their pets. The free foodstuff they were given, my uncle sent down to Nigeria. It was a full luggage. This is just the surface, If You really know deeply the Canadian government cares for its citizens, you will weep. Some of you ehn. Omo. I’m not invalidating your experience about the UK but no try am bring Canada into it. They are miles into the future. Do you know what a socialist country is? My guy, Don’t bother yourself. |

BreconHills:I just used that to buttress a point I think most Nigerians will be able to relate to. However, it’s possible to attain the highest ladder of society if you KNOW YOUR ONION |
| Re: Why There Is No Point Going To The Uk Again by BreconHills(m): 10:13am On Nov 18, 2022 |
Shutupthere:I think we are saying two different things. I am not talking about reaching the height of your profession by say becoming a KC, professor or acknowledged expert. I am talking about the ability to engage with policy makers; MP and cabinet members and influenve policy in the interests of your race/group without surrendering your identity. Most of the blacks that get there like Kwarteng (sic) Bim Afolabi, Kemi Badenoch had to dilute their blackness to get access. Nearly 90% are married to white Upper class women or men. Without doing this - access denied. In contrast Indians still wear their Indian identity on their sleeves, still marry Indians and still influence policy in favour of indians. That's the bridge Africans still need to cross. |
| Re: Why There Is No Point Going To The Uk Again by Shutupthere: 4:18pm On Nov 18, 2022 |
BreconHills:While I can’t present any statistics to buttress my point (which I strongly believe is achievable), It doesn’t take out the fact Africans can be whatever they want to be in the western World. It is fallacious to name a few successful people of African descent who have married a certain subset of society to mean their success was hinged on marital ties. Can’t we just agree they are Africans who got to the top as Africans?.. Many more Nigerians in the nearest future will turn out to be voices that influence the political structure in their respective communities (Be it UK or Canada). It might not look so now but in 10 years from now with the level of brain drain. You will see Nigerians doing great things as it relates to politics, economics, science, technology, entertainment etc....My humble submission bro.. |
| Re: Why There Is No Point Going To The Uk Again by BreconHills(m): 5:07pm On Nov 18, 2022 |
Shutupthere:I am not disagreeing with you that Nigerians can do great things, what I am saying is that we are not seeing Nigerians positively impacting state policy in favour of Nigeria. I can't think of one single example. This summer it was the subject of discussion I had with over 300 highly placed Nigerians in England and Scotland and they agreed that they had not hacked government policy in the same way that the Indians have done. We agreed to hold another diaspora summit next year. These are neuro surgeons, architects, accountants with the big 5 firms, investment bankers at Morgan Stanley and the like. If you think of where the Indians were with their small corner shops and where they are now - they've gone a long way snd we need to be humble to hack that. Most of the time these NGO and international bodies e.g Commonwealth associations are taken over by our elite who simply use it for personal access and not for the good of Nigeria. The British Asian Trust started years ago with the then Prince Charles as patron - today its delivered including 3000 special visas for Indian entrepreneurs outside of the Highly skilled professional visa everybody in the world is competing for.

BreconHills:You are not entirely wrong. But then the recent trends I have been observing is making me very resolute on the idea that the crop of Nigerians migrating overseas at the moment are not the usual spectrum that go there. This present stock are very determined to do something different and maybe mostly because most of these folks grew up with the internet are have more information about career, government policies than the 80’s “japararians”(You can engage some of them in a discuss and you will surprised). But one thing is sure give it like a decade and we would see Africans taking over like our Asian brothers in every sector. We already doing it with entertainment. These set of African immigrants didn’t go there to “sleep on a bicycle “. PS: if there is a video link or audio file to any of these discussion you had in the past be kind enough to share let me learn a few things myself. |

. Also, this racism you people whine about is tiring at this point, considering you are in a prosperous place, whereas your so-called home is the world's poverty capital! The worst form of discrimination is when people who look like tell you to go back to your state whereas both persons are citizens of the country with the highest number of poor people in the world! I would rather have the Mayor of Tokyo tell me to leave Tokyo and return to Nigeria than stay in Lagos and have Obafemi Hamzat tell me to return to my state. Let someone who is rich tell me to leave his place than a fellow poor person do the same.
