You think Wike is backing Tinubu?

I didn't get that from both their speeches today...
Wike is anti Atiku/PDP and North.

He knows Obi is popular in Rivers yet doesnt want to burn the bridge with the likely winner Tinubu cos he will need his goodwill when he Wike is out of office,

Hardly will you see Wike insulting Tinubu even though they are in opposing parties. Any slip up the FG can reason his matter and Amaechi gangs might pounce. The Amaechi vs Wike beef run deep

So he is striding the APC and Obi paths delicately.

Yesterday he invited Oshiomole and apologized for fighting him for Obaseki
Today he invited Peter Obi and told him he will provide logistics support to Obi campaign whenever they need it
Tomorrow he is inviting Buhari the president and leader of APC

With Wike support for Obi today, the pattern is becoming clearer

Wike will achieve Tinubu goals via Obi as proxy. Wike being a self confessed Tinubu man cannot sell Tinubu candidacy to his people but can lock out PDP. Wike gets to support a popular candidate, increasing his popularity whilst simultaneously writing enough results for Tinubu to balance out the National aggregate. I expect all G5 governors will follow the same pattern

Obi now becomes the Buhari of SS and SE, battle ground now shifts to the North where Tinubu will hope to get the Governors to write him in enough votes such that SW will tip the scale

Atiku now needs to go Uber religious and Uber regional to get the power of Aboki numbers to overcome all these coalitions against him
The people are the structure, we no need structure go soon learn serious lesson come 2023,

But you LITERALLY started this conversation by saying Africa was backwards because we did not participate in the European Age of Enlightenment.

Your positions lack intellectual merit, which is why you've ended up arguing against yourself in less than 10 posts
Your various 1000-word posts since morning have achieved zero aim and are a waste of time.

Africa partook in the Age of Enlightenment but there's scarcely no philosopher or thinker of repute known at that period that came from Africa. If there are, mention their names. Lols.

No further comment. Good evening.
You can doctor this statement, too. Give it a try.

Do you know the history of your lineage? Where you want find am. To even know your family members in your generation is difficult, let alone over many past generations.

I thought he was merely taunting Atiku with his dalliance with APC.

His speech today seemed like a definitve declaration for Obi to me. He dissed Soludo, extolled Obi's virtues and performance, even praised Obi's hospitality, offered a promise of support and them ended with Wike Pepper Dem.

Does Wike have a history of showing guile? I've always considered him too open and predictable to be a good politician.

You can pretend not to know the actitivies of the Portuguese that took many Yorubas and Ibos as slaves.

Senseless debtor. The Portuguese introduced Roman Catholicism in Iboland long before the reign of the British.
Should the British government not have super-imposed Anglicanism on Catholicism since it was a tool of control?

Or maybe. . . Just maybe they realized religion was counter productive to their control agenda which is why they restricted missionaries from crusading in the north like someone else posited to you.

It is possible that intelligent people (even if they may be colonialists) can realize that the tenets of Christianity (which teaches that everyone is equal in God's eyes) will work against a subjugator's world view on such and therefore not be a tool of control?

How I wish this post was responding to an intelligent person.

Confederal System of Government but in regional form as its practiced pre and post independence before the Coup.

I don't see why not

He hates Atiku, knows Tinubu has a good chance of winning, can carry his people along and increase his popularity with Obi, and is a self professed friend and mentee of Tinubu

He knows APC is a hard sell in his state and even in APC there are seniors in Rivers like Magnus Abe and Amaechi who will get the pick ahead of him

He wants PDP/His man to win Rivers governorship, and not openly oppose the likely incoming president while still kowtowing the popular guy on the street of Rivers for now

A001:
Religion is a key tool colonial masters use to subjugate their conquered territories after the use of forces via war and/or invasion.

Any colonial master who is wise knows that to keep hold of a people for long, you need to give them a religion such as Christianity that glorifies having a meek attitude and forgiving your enemies.

That's why the Great Britain sent many Christian missionaries to Africa after conquering many parts of the continent.

GB learnt this tactic well from the Roman Empire, who had colonized them (GB) in the past.

If you check the history of any colonized nation, you'd see that the colonized uphold/used to uphold the religion of their colonial masters simply because religion is one of the most effective tools of conquering people and keeping them in check.

It's what powerful people do: Find a religion that keeps people subservient or design one if none exists, enforce it on the people, and they will rule over such people for long.

Brilliant colonial masters use only force to conquer people (that doesn't last), but the wise ones combine both force (violence) and wise words (peace) in books they enforce on their subjects as holy.

That's why GB's reign over Nigeria is long and successful and still in effect. It's hard to control humans, and force isn't enough and isn't sustainable.

People that colonize others know that to have a long reign over the colonized, apart the use of force, it's crucial to give them a system of belief (religion), a system of education, and language.

Anyone that controls these three elements control a people. That's why Nigeria and similar colonies who are independent on paper aren't in reality until they design those three elements themselves and discard the ones designed by the colonial masters.

It's the same reason why atheism, agnosticism, humanism are common among highly educated people because they've access to information not readily available to the common man.

Colonial masters used to keep their subjects in check successfully in the past because they control their access to information using the tools of religion, education, and language.

They made sure they didn't read some books.

But the Internet is the game-changer and makes key information about various topics, such as religions, history of colonialism, philosophies, etc. available for everyone.

In this age, only the willful ignorant will remain enslaved via religion or being a slave of the whites or Arabs.

South East businessmen donate N1billion to support Tinubu's Presidential bid, says Governor Uzodimma.

You are a failed agnostic. Should I treat all agnostics as failures just because you are one? How can you expect a reasonable answer from me when you are beneath my level of reasoning?
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OasisX: 7:14pm On Nov 17, 2022
Two thousand South eastern businessmen have contributed N1 billion to support the campaign of Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Governor Hope Uzodimma made this known Thursday at the Town Hall meeting between Tinubu and business leaders in the region.

He said membership of the group was drawn from the five states of the region.

"I am happy to say our people are fully in support of our Presidential candidate who has come to share his vision and plan for Nigeria and South East today. To support this aspiration the sum of N1billion naira has been raised by 2000 business owners across the South East states," said Governor Uzodimma.

A spokesman for the group Emeka Mgbudem said the group believes in Nigeria and is committed to peace. He said members contributed N500,000 each because they believe in Tinubu, after reading his Action Plan for Nigeria.

He said where an Ibo man puts his money, he puts his heart.

He however asked Tinubu to remove the numerous checkpoints on the roads in the region and also build the roads linking the state capitals in the region.

Responding, Tinubu pledged to introduce technology in the clearing of goods at the ports that will render unnecessary the checkpoints on the roads.

He also promised to run a government where all Nigerians are treated equally.

The question is; why are they cooking the numbers? To gain what? Once you address reason they are cooking the numbers by making them autonomous, there won't be need for it any longer.

State should stop depending on FG for money. Let every state source for money independently, control resources in their domains. If you can't cope as a State independently, then beg to be annexed by another capable State in your Region.

The larger a state, the more it is valued politically

This stuff goes beyond money. Political value and relevance is also involved. If Abia is more than Imo, they will be more relevant, irrespective of whether they are in control of their resources or not

So unless we have a way of making the registration process transparent, no pattern of regional design would stop it

It has to devolve to semi-autonomous local governments to collect taxes and provide services. Keep the states structure for grouping only - get rid of Governors in favour of senators

So basically your local government chairman becomes the governor affecting your day to day life, and then your senator also from your local government is representing your interests at the centre.

Peter Obi - This morning I was telling someone that Peter Odili was my senior boy in Secondary School, we couldnt have played football in CKC without Dr Odili. Anyday he is not in the match we have lost

Interesting how a 61yrs Obi met a 74yrs old Odili in secondary school and they played ball together

If Obi entered CKC at 10 that must mean Odili was 23yrs in CKC for a 13yrs gap to work. Thats asumming Odili was in form 5 when Obi was in Form 1
In most cases anything above a 10yr gap for people who met in secondary school is already looking absurd
