Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti, says Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) will affect thr chances of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fayose spoke on Thursday during an interview with Channels Television.

Obi had dumped the PDP in May for LP and clinched the party’s presidential ticket.

In 2019, the former Anambra governor was PDP’s vice-presidential candidate while Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, was the presidential candidate.
The participation of Obi in the 2023 presidential election under LP has elicited speculations that the votes of the PDP may be divided in 2023.

Speaking on the development, Fayose said the former Anambra governor may not secure the required 25 percent of votes in two-third of the states to be declared winner.

The former Ekiti governor also asked the PDP to negotiate with the Obi and reconcile with the camp of the Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, in order to win the presidency.

“Obi is a danger to watch out for. I don’t believe Obi will make 25 percent of votes in two-third of the states of the federation,” he said.

“I’m not against Obi. I love him and he is a very vibrant leader. I don’t believe he will get the required 25 percent of votes because of my permutations as Ayodele Fayose, but with God, nothing shall be impossible.

“Let me say Obi is more of a chronic cancer to PDP and there is no denying.

“Let me give you an analysis. In south-west, people might not like to hear that, I don’t see how PDP will win. Anybody deceiving us can continue to deceive us.

“I don’t see how PDP will win in the south-east. South-south will be a combination of all interests. Let me come to the key states of the north.

“Without deceiving ourselves, there is so much work to do in the north-central. PDP and APC did not pick any candidate, either presidential or vice-presidential from the north-central. The north-east is where the vice-presidential candidate of APC came from.

“We will give Adamawa state to our party. Don’t forget there is still another Kwankwaso who is a semi-cancer that can equally upstage figures in the north.

“Reconciling or negotiating with Obi will be a good thing and finding a way to make peace with these Wike people will be a good thing too.”

Atiku, at 76, should step down for Peter Obi.

By 2026, Atiku will be 80 and the senseless drug baron will still be claiming his football age of 74 even when his joints are practically frozen.

We can't afford to nurse these deities in power for another 8 years. The few who have sold their souls to the devil should not hold us down.

Sane Nigerians deserve better.

Sure. Even if Obi gets 100% of votes in SE and SS, he is condemned for failure on the constitutional requirement.

He can not achieve at least 25 % in 24 states.
There are 17 states in the South and 19 states in the North. While it is certain that Obi will not get 25% in some SW states, let me assume by some miracle he achieves that. Can someone tell me 7 states obi will achieve at least 25% in the North?
election against 2 gladiators PDP and APC.

If Obi was not on the ballot, there would have been a strong likelihood that Buhari will be handing over to another Fulani man.

Dear mr fayose if you are truly advocate of southern presidency then urge tinubu to step down for Obi because Obi has better chance than tinubu.

2023 election Will be One of a kind where traditional Old ways of politicians influencing votes Will be reduced to lowest.
Right now Obi controls both SE and SS with pdp sharing parts of south South too.
While tinubu only has SW which Will be except Lagos that will be a close contest.
Not forgetting pdp controls osun and Adeleke will definitely repay atiku back.
So in essence tinubu will win his stronghold but not with very wide margin.

Come to North Central the most affected areas of apc bad governance.
They won't even touch apc with long Pole.
It's pdp vs LP over there.

Coming to the core North.
With the Way southerners are queing behind Obi I won't be surprised if the North picks atiku as a consensus candidate because they knew the implications of splitting their votes between atiku kwankwaso and tinubu.
Atiku being their brother and More acceptable in the South than tinubu and also In a major party.
The choice won't be hard for them like they're already doing.

So it's for the best interest of the South if tinubu steps down for Obi.

Listen to what experienced grassroot Politicians like HE Fayose say to find out what they are not saying. Winston Churchill always give that advice.
What Fayose is scared of saying is that as things stand Asiwaju Tinubu has won the election. SW gone to APC, NC is locked down for APC except his party works hard to reverse the current reality, NW is for APC because Kwankwaso will deplete PDP's votes and NE has a Shettima except Adamawa that is HE Atiku's home state. The chances of PDP in SE is whittling down with Obi while SS is up for grabs.

This is what I have been stating since. Folks like Fayose are not social media warriors so are aware that Asiwaju Tinubu has defeated them again.

From structureless to negotiate with him. One thing is apparent, if you must have peace prepare for war! I remember Wike taunting Obi as he left the PDP. In the end, Wike got played via Futa Jalloh highway while Obi’s chances of winning keeps increasing. If you’re so good at permutations Mr. Fayose, why didn’t you permute a win for your Party’s candidate in 2019?? We appreciate the advice, but a greater part of 70% of the population want to help Obi answer your call for negotiations with their PVCs on Election Day! Nigeria must be better for our children in this our lifetime gaskiya!!

You support the useless druggie so your opinion doesn't matter. Peter Obi won't step down for anyone. Everyone should test their popularity. Shameless Fayose wants an outgoing Fulani man to hand over to another Fulani man while the rest of the country looks on.

Nigerians are tired of useless APC and PDP and ate looking for alternatives. If Peter Obi cannot get over 50 million Nigerians who don't vote every 4 years to vote this time, this election is likely going to end in a runoff.
