CanadaOrBust:I've decided to stop replying someone copying and pasting information from Google. Someone that equates living on credit to debt doesnt understand Financial and how the western system runs. The people he claimed are on debt are living in luxurious homes and driving luxurious cars and going for luxurious vacations, comparing them to Nigeria debtors that loan sharks will drag with beating on streets. Even when firms file for bankruptcy, the CEO goes home with his benefits |

dazzlingd:No mind am. He does have a point about debt but he fails to realise that all debts are not the same. He also fails to acknowledge that it is somewhat a choice, rarely out of necessity. He did say personal bankruptcy not corporate. But even then it’s still a tool they use to magically wipe out all the humongous debts they have accumulated. |

CanadaOrBust:Depends on how you define choice. Initially it can be said to be some sort of a choice but then as time goes on they are trapped - it's no longer a choice. Which ultimately eventually leads to bankruptcy! |

dazzlingd:My brother it's not really as rosy as you paint it. Most of those people live lives of quiet desperation (never mind the flashy stuff.) They are enticed by offers and eventually find themselves trapped. See below

PoliteActivist:You have to understand, bankruptcy is not bad as it sounds - it is part of the game, a tool rich folks use. A tool not available to Nigerians for the most part |

| Re: Abroad Guys: Would You Relocate Back To Nigeria If Given $40k by PoliteActivist(op): 7:37pm On Nov 19, 2022 |
pansophist:In all those countries you still have to apply to become a citizen. In US you are simply a citizen like everyone else |

SunMusk:Well, if you are a typical Nigerian it'll be a mistake - unless you have plans on the ground already as to how to turn it into real money. A typical Nigerian who suddenly comes into $40k will NEVER quietly work hard with it, knowing it is not that big. They'd instead immediately become "big boy", buy better car, get better place with better furnishings, expensive funerals/weddings, upgrade their profile in society which comes with bigger exoenses, be show-off generous to relatives and friends, etc. Before long that money will be gone. Guaranteed! And they'd be back exactly where they were. Therefore for the typical Nigerian, to do your research and japa to a better place of your choice with $1k in your pocket is a better choice! |

maziude:One thing I'll never understand is why you people say things like this. If money isn't the only reasons I'm in the west, what else? You think I like the loneliness, cold and the grumpy feelings of missing people, food, culture I left back home? Most of y'all think abroad is as rosy as you are made to believe by the media. One thing I also noticed is that people say things like this when they get to abroad and notice that making money and saving large part of that money is not as easy as they thought, then you see them saying "I relocate to make a better Life for my unborn kids" not to enjoy or make money. I just tell them shut up bro, we all know how it works |
| Re: Abroad Guys: Would You Relocate Back To Nigeria If Given $40k by pansophist(m): 11:10pm On Nov 19, 2022 |
PoliteActivist:it is like you want to just argue for arguing sake. The countries I mentioned offer citizenship by birth unconditionally. All the parent has to do is apply for the child's passport, that's all. Go to the travel section, there is a popular thread of Nigerians going to Brazil to give birth, since Brazil is better than the US in that regard because it gives the parent permanent residency as well. Now go ahead and argue for nothing. |

pansophist:I concede I didn't look at Brazil specifically, but I did look at other countries like India below. Then I looked at Brazil and YOU ARE RIGHT! Thanks for the info

PoliteActivist:I've been here for more than 5yrs. Still, I visit Nigeria every year. In fact,I Just returned. Just can't wait to make cool dough and get the Bleep out of here. All those useless"I relocate for my unborn kids no apply to me" I just want to live first. Let's not lie and pretend that there are no aspects of Nigeria we all missed. I just missed the warm reception, good weather, eating nice food, going out whenever I like because the weather is okay and not damn freezing |

PoliteActivist:please talk for yourself . 32m will be generating nothing less down 350k for me daily in trading . All I need is good internet and bank network. That you don’t know what to do with money, doesn’t mean the same for others. |

Osewa03:Wow! This is honest, no hype. There are aspects of Naija that are priceless. Every single year you visit? Even durring 2020 COVID? You belong to a very small minority indeed. Contrast to this guy below who says he'll tear up his Nigerian passport! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRvbWOYginI |

PoliteActivist:I guess it’s fair to say am still paying the prize for my relocation. School was tough, the cultural shock was overwhelming. That said, i have to admit, it’s way better than I was in Nigeria, it’s easy to plan here, and if you work hard, you can make lots of money, thank God am hard working. Honestly, it’s not been easy, but its been really good; and I swear, it’s worth cost I paid, and it’s always getting better. |
