muhdaliyuh:The madness started with Jonathan and his administration together with his online supporters telling us that government had no business being in business. They encouraged him to privatise power sector, now they too are enjoying paying higher tariff for the same darkness |

omonnakoda:Power sector! This is about power sector. I didn't generalise privatisation. Those before him left power sector out of their privatisation agenda |

This man called the president always has negative ideas and unproductive plan for this country. He can't stress his brain and think out means of generating fund outside borrowing and selling Government properties. He is just there to enjoy his old age. |

True but not correct. The Choice of P3 is determined by a Govts capacity to take on Risk. Concessions will only work well if the Govt can take on operational and use risks. In our case, it can't and can't afford paying extra subsidies. It's best to sell off, Govt is shielded from financial risk exposure, investor takes up responsibility for profitability which is tied to optimum performance of the plants. Everybody wins! muhdaliyuh: |

Brendaniel:Their is no confusion here! If the sale is transparent, it will be a win for power generation and Nigerians. Not like the distribution company’s that were sold to cronies who had little to nothing to invest. And same applies to universities, if those institutions are not privatized, their is NO WAY those universities will stand a chance to compete. The government is overwhelmed and cannot help. |
Privatisation is one of the ways to love our darling country forward. A better Nigeria all around is all we want. Nigeria will be great again in our lifetime whether the evil ones like it or not. God bless Nigeria and all good, sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians. Meanwhile......
They’ve already sold NNPC , have you seen any change yet? |

Mrsegz:They should make it work simple, go and look at Ghana’s concessions of Gold mining for example, imagine a country owning next to nothing in the concession. They own the Gold but are buying it from those foreign companies as at now. One of the disadvantages is that these foreign companies are in control of your national resource to a large extent . Have u asked yourself the type of plants the FG want to sell. |
| Re: Nigeria Governors’ Forum Reject Sale Of Power Plants, Sue FG by brandsoncharlie: 1:46am On Nov 25, 2022 |
CoronaVirusRelo:Are you saying those discos there’s no foreign ownership so far. Charlie FG want to cash out fraudulently . |
| Re: Nigeria Governors’ Forum Reject Sale Of Power Plants, Sue FG by brandsoncharlie: 1:50am On Nov 25, 2022 |
Emperorx:Yet the country is not working, Ghana has virtually no to poor concessions in their gold mining , foreign but see how the country is just fucking worst currency in the world and always running to imf. I am yet to see any improvements in all these privatizations. |
| Re: Nigeria Governors’ Forum Reject Sale Of Power Plants, Sue FG by Nobody: 1:57am On Nov 25, 2022 |
brandsoncharlie:Those discos were bought by cronies. You should know the norm, they use foreigners to front while they really own it. Most of the discos you can think of are owned by same people in power, and why you see they have absolutely nothing to offer! Take a look at NITEL too? With the capacity that institution has, it cannot even compete, because people who bought it are in the system and have nothing to offer! |

CoronaVirusRelo:The same thing happened with Epcl petrol chemicals in eleme, Port Harcourt for example was sold all in the name of privatization for effectiveness. Still today I have not seen the usefulness of that privatization. |
| Re: Nigeria Governors’ Forum Reject Sale Of Power Plants, Sue FG by Nobody: 10:16am On Nov 25, 2022 |
brandsoncharlie:Because sale was not transparent and lacks credibility. That’s just it. If you research about sale, you will realize it lacks credibility. |

brandsoncharlie:You guys are so ill informed! That's the problems with Nigerians, they refuse to take the time to educate themselves, even with google at their fingertips. I wonder what you all do with your phones? Just aimless senseless chat and videos that kills your brain. A google search will tell you that the former Eleme Petrochemicals is now Indorama Petrochemicals and that company is doing fantastically well last I checked. https://www.indoramaeleme.com/ |
| Re: Nigeria Governors’ Forum Reject Sale Of Power Plants, Sue FG by COMPAQ(m): 5:10pm On Nov 25, 2022 |
brandsoncharlie:Another uninformed Nigerian. NNPC has not been sold. It was just converted to a Limited Liability Company to stand on its own, instead of being run as a Ministry of government. So they no longer contribute to FAAC or Federation Account like an agency like Customs or FAAN might. Instead they pay taxes like every other oil company. Likewise Ministry of Petroleum no longer pays their salaries. The salaries are paid inhouse with their own revenue, so no longer budgeted in national budget. |
