A high power delegation from the Nigerian Air Force has ended an assessment visit to Liberia.

The delegation visit is in line with plans by the Armed Forces of Liberia to reactivate its Air Wing. The AFL Chief of Staff expressed excitement over the team's visit, describing it as a milestone achievement that will help the AFL reactivate its Air Wing that has been down since the end of the civil war.

Congo is huge. But Beni to Goma traveling time of 10 hours has to do with the atrocious roads than distance. 357km on a normal highway with a max speed of 120km/hour is 4 hours.

By Congolese standards, the Route Nationale 2 from Goma to Beni is a good road!
I remember reading an SANDF company with 35 vehicles drove 10 hours from Sake to Masisi, a distance of 70km! Even then, they had to abandon the vehicles and march the rest of the way on foot.

The DRC's roads are poor by design. During Mobutu's 30 years in power, only the trusted Presidential Guard was allowed anywhere near the capital, Kinshasa. He would disperse the other military units all over the country, and deliberately didn't maintain or build roads so that those units could not link up with each other, nor travel to the capital Kinshasa to overthrow him. And with no supplies reaching them, they preyed on the local communities, a practice which then became entrenched.
Both Kabilas who succeeded him did little to improve road infrastructure, for the same reason as Mobutu.
