Thanks for laying open the reasons behind fifa procedures for football in the UK.

Even then, if Wales wins the world cup...it would be treated as a victory...for Wales. England , Scotland and Northern ireland might as well be like other countries that are upset it isn't them.

(Rivalry is so bad that there was a time when Scottish fans were openly backing England's opponents at a tournament once...).


Anyway, the shorter form is that when FIFA was founded, it met the Welsh fa, scottish fa and english FA as well as the irish FA as separate organisations and then accepted them in . (Then there is a separate body that has powers to decide new football rules...and the UK home nations FA have half the vote on any new rules...rest of the world gets the other half. Rank hath its privileges...)
