izzou:Sounds to me like you just want to keep feeding on hopelessness. You are asking about funds. Nnpc just said they remmited zero money to Nigeria's account, is it that they didn't earn money? Do you know that the world is actually experiencing an oil boom right now? CORRUPTION IS OUR NUMBER ONE PROBLEM. If there wasn't corruption in Nnpc, or there was a shred of accountability, they will remit the trillions of naira they're supposed to. Obi has also spoken about cutting cost of governance, at least to the fullest extent of his executive powers, that can boost a further 15% to the nation's coffers if executed well, trimming or merging some redundant ministry's and exorbitant executive costs. But no leave it to izzuo to regale us with daily complaints while looking very hopeless and being useless to practical actions taken to change things. Here is the current amount used for feeding the presidents family alone, antecedents show that Obi will cut this drastically. His constant rhetorics tells you he understands the importance of cutting exorbitant costs but keep looking for messianic qualities in a candidate.

Lol OasisX knows very well his candidate can't be trusted, ain't competent and won't deliver on his mandate. Infact he knows Emilokan is a fraud that's why you always see him gladly join anyone trying to say the same thing about other candidates. Oga don't deceive yourself, we don't see Obi as a criminal, neither do we his supporters see him as incompetent and lacking in capacity mentally, physically, ethically and otherwise. The case of the woman who slept on her child killing the child in the process comes to mind. Left to her, her neighbor's child must also be killed. This is wickedness shaa. |

izzou:I disagree, it is down to failure of leadership and accountability. Don't we somehow find funds to feed Aso Rock, Excess Presidential Fleet, National Assembly? How much additional is the funds required to train youth corpers same as military, abi na no be person dey train our military? I actually think corpers should do 6months military training; then 6months serving either in paramilitary ot teaching service...Or better still extend the whole thing to 2years, 1year being mandatory Military service, 2nd year being optional and full applicable wage paid for 2nd year.... Naija get the money but it is wasted on too many nonsense. |

What's the use of complaining daily about bad leadership and poor governance in Nigeria without making any effort to correct the situation? Will daily complaints effect any change? Even many of those based overseas support a candidate in the upcoming elections. Anyone in Nigeria that doesn't plan to vote in the upcoming elections has no right to be complaining of bad governance because they're also culpable in bringing about the status quo. |

Olowunl01:So, which candidate has come to tell us that he will cut the funds for the National Assembly? I hope you are aware that the Presidency is not in charge of the budget of the NASS. He cannot add or change what they earn. They have a committee that does that. So how will, let's say Obi make that change? How exactly? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 12:45pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
Donjazet2:How does Obi hope to cut the excesses of the NASS? If you answer me realistically, i will vote Obi because of you. |

izzou:You're just deceiving yourself. You complain about poor governance here daily. Personally, I don't see Obi as a savior. Only delusional people think the rot being created by Buhari's government can be fixed in four or even eight years. The rot is too deep and will take years to fix. That's why APC mustn't be allowed to continue ruling and should be ditched for another party just like PDP was replaced with the current APC-led government. Your failure to vote is supporting the ruling party indirectly to win the presidential election, and you shouldn't complain when Buhari Pro Max (Tinubu) wins. If aspirants like Sowore and other less popular candidates had formed a coalition, I would have supported them. But without such a coalition, another party other than APC and PDP is the most reasonable choice, and that party is LP. Only Obi's LP stand a good chance against established parties like PDP and APC. The fact that you don't support any candidate in an exercise you only have an opportunity to do once in four years doesn't make you better than the lovers of corruption supporting BAT. |

izzou:This sounds a lot like complaining to me izzou:This sounds a lot like complaining to me. Something we've all been doing Soo much for the past 8 years. I mean, it's just highly irrational that someone that knows a situation is bad wouldn't want to cling unto what would look like a solution but rather choose to resign himself to hopelessness and cowardice. It just makes no sense whatsoever. I mean, if your house is burning, do you just resign yourself to death rather than put a fight?? You complaining about bad governance and sitting on the sidelines makes absolutely no sense! None whatsoever. It's just illogical. |

Ellexy: ![]() Truth is; many of you assumed Leadership is a joke, and its simply about making promises. I was actively involved in politics while in School and during my service year. I vied for positions and won on merits and track records, not just about promises.... it may sound funny though. I led and successfully managed a Team to deliver a project at Dubai Expo2020 Site. I was assigned to handle the responsibility based on my track records at work. So, if we are talking Leadership, to some extent, I have experience. I am not supporting BAT cos he is from my tribe rather based on his administrative track records. Chikena.

Ellexy:It's really very painful to see because people clearly don't understand the privilege we have of choosing our leaders. Just look at the countries surrounding us, some with military dictatorship, some with faux democracies that have dictators and no hope in sight. Look at our next door neighbours Cameroon. One president for 40 years and he has spent the last 5 years living in France while ruling in absentia. Meanwhile in Nigeria, we're privileged to change bad leaders and people are still forming fencesitters. Tufia! |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 1:24pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
There might be risks but State police or a more empowered regional police setup is the way to go. Something along the lines of the civilian JTF in Borno could be useful in most State's were funds to train and equip a formal security force is lacking. In the short term as much as it pains us a form of amnesty should be considered to remove most of the trouble makers who got into terrorism/insurgency because of economic reasons. Hopefully this will reduce the number of insurgents to a few stubborn ones that can be contained and handled. Government at the centre also needs to give the states more freedom to buy adequate weapons to equip their various security groups. The blunt truth however is if whoever becomes president doesn't urgently fix the economy so more people can be employed and financially bouyant enough to take care of their families the numbers of disgruntled and frustrated people would overwhelm whatever security arrangement no matter how novel. izzou: |

OasisX:It's not even up to 2 hours you were shining teeth and agreeing with Izzou right on this board how all the candidates including Tinubu are all the same and can't deliver on anything, they can't be trusted bla bla but now you're suddenly supporting him for his track records. Deep down you know the truth, no amount of emoji can change that. Also stop projecting, I don't take leadership to be a joke, I believe no one here does, maybe those who are outside Nigeria and is not feeling the pains of the masses in this develish administration. |

A40:Where is that one comparing Buhari to GEJ. I don't know what people smoke before coming to this forum sometimes. This is the type of calamity and incompetence Buhari and APC has delivered to Nigerians in almost 8 years of catastrophic misrule If una like vote these charlatans again. Sudan will be like Disneyland when they're done with Nigeria

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 1:38pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
Chief the NASS is just a very tiny tip of the corruption iceberg that we have in Nigeria. Even if you scrap the budget of NASS (which the president has no power to do anyway) it still won't solve Nigeria's financial problems. I read somewhere that what Nigeria currently makes from crude oil is not even up to the Pennsylvania budget for a year. So when we say we have a revenue problem is not just some empty government sloganeering. The amount of money that will cater to Nigeria's infrastructure deficit I'm not sure we even make 5% of it hence borrowing. Yes reducing corruption and plugging loopholes are welcome but we have things that need to be fixed now now which requires huge amounts of money. izzou: |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 1:39pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
Ellexy:You go fear agenda na. ![]() The swift turnaround from nobody can save Nigeria to bat can save Nigeria. ![]() While regurgitating the same propaganda talking point. Track record when Lagos remains one of the worst cities to live in despite resources and factors that shouldn't make it so. Anyone who lives in Lagos will tell you that things are just as bad in terms of quality of life as any other place. From poor traffic network, to high cost of living, to crime etc. The state has money but it's not being channeled properly because it's used to fund a national party. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 1:42pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
Donjazet2:I saw a post yesterday about a Camerounian saying how lucky we are in Nigeria to be able to choose once in 4yrs who should lead us. The other day I saw the news of Equatorial Guinea's president elected again on a fresh 9yr tenure after ruling for more than 40yrs, his son is also the Vice President. If educated people like Izzou refuse to vote, he shouldn't complain when the almajiri's decides who leads the country. Evil always thrives when good people remain docile or believe nothing can be done about it. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DeadPresidents: 1:45pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
OasisX:Terrible idea. Nigeria faces no immediate threat of external aggression unlike South Korea that has a history of aggression against it by regional players like North Korea and Japan. We don’t need to draft everybody in because that does not help us in any way apart from wasting already scarce resources. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 1:46pm On Nov 28, 2022 |
chrisooblog:I am just asking him, since he is assured that Obi will cut excesses from NASS. Maybe he can tell me how a president has any power to effect that change. And the revenue problem is why i don't rate Buhari one bit |
