until 2015, this country was effectively a one party state where other political parties [LP, APGA, etal] simply became satellite parties for teh ruling party. CPC was an ineffectual machine that made noise and nothing else.

we have said repeatedly that this is what we expected from Peter Obi, as the defacto face of APGA at the time - slowly build APGA state by state, until it become a regional power, at which point you can negotiate or merge.
