When did you lost your parents? by crood(op):
my parents died very early i never get the chance to know them.
I was left Under the care of my aunt but she died early, after her death i was left in these cold world with one single thougth, you're alone from this moment, look for your own food look for your own shelter or perish.
except for my aunt who care before her death 2015.
I never know or had any clue to of how my parent look like before they died.
I regret coming to this world.
i never had a home to call my own.
nobody to defend me.
how I made it till this moment is the magical question no one could answer.
maybe there is a purpose to my life but who am I to tell?
I am on the street 24hours fighting for food or where to sleep.
how many of kids like me has made it successfully before ? without care for me ?
i trained myself to learn handwork, (tailoring)
I need a family. I need attention. I need a sewing machine to train myself back to school but nobody to help.
my life is too painful and sad.

If I can make it, nobody has excuse not to make it

I never had a mother, though alive till this moment but never lived for me ,but for her other children with her white husband. My dad and his wife maltreated us right from childhood up till the age of 16 and both abandoned us(me and my siblings). Another round of struggle started ,how to eat, where to sleep, how to go to school early etc.

But I took the bull by the horn, I started paying rent at that age, sent myself to school all through,I did all types of menial jobs to see myself through secondary, and proceeded for higher education.

Long story short, I made it but not without challenges, rise and fall, hunger, poverty, homelessness, unclothedness,in pain and peril, but in all these things,I emerge as more than a conqueror.

Your situation is not that critical, you can make it too

wow this is inspiring,
i pray i make it like you did.
Economy now is too harsh, no jobs handwork seems usless without money.
i use to ride wheelbarrow in the market before i sold it and use the money to pay for the tailoring i learnt, life without parent is hell but thank God you made it and live to tell the story, i pray i make it too.
They are somedays i nearly hang myself to end it but i just see its not worth it life is precious and that tomorrow may be great that is how i move along. Tears!!!!

It is what it is...even if its not in you, learn to be a Lone wolf. There are situations that most of us don't even have the courage to express in an anonymous forum like this, because we have decided to conquer against all odds.

Keep grinding.

You wanna make me cry now.

I lost my Mom in 2005. Though I had come off age and was already working then. I felt it but not as much as I felt my dad's death in 2012. It tore my world apart. I cried so badly cos I really loved my dad.

He never lived in the village all his life. So he retired and after 5yrs of staying alone ( cos we all moved out at some point after momsy died and he was left alone ) in Lagos, he said he wanted to retire to the village only to get there and under one month, we were called that he fell. This was during the 2012 labor strike ( as a result of the hike in fuel price) that roads were closed so we couldn't travel immediately. We kept calling and immediately the roads were open, my two sisters quickly travelled down but it was too late. He couldn't speak again. He later gave up the ghost.

Twinny was out of the country then and asked me to wait so we could travel together. Immediately she got back, we set out to the East the following day. We got to the village that same day but he had already been laid to rest. That was the saddest day of my life. The llast I saw him was when he called us all to the house to announce his travel to the village. Immediately he saw me, he hugged and pecked me and said, "you look beautiful " **sobs** I'll never forget those words. I didn't know that was the last I was going to see him. Huh...

I know many like that, tailoring and barbering are same in that nature.

If you are in the village, relocate to the city, don't sit at your comfort zone and expect breakthrough

best of luck to you if you have an easy way to accomplish your goal

I relocated from Lagos to Port Harcourt as a stranger, without family, friend or any one I know. I started off as a barber in someone's shop 10 years ago ,and by 2015, I was already in millions before I quit the job.

I am not telling u Nollywood,I am telling you what I did to succeed. Success is not for Lilly livered people,it is for those with lion's heart

It's ok. It's all in the past now.

My happiness is that he had trained most of us to a certain level where we could fend for ourselves. So he was just enjoying his pension when death struck.

If he had listened when we kicked against his retiring to the villa, he probably would be alive till today. Now his only surviving elder brother just died last week. I don't know who will collect my bride price now... **Sobs**

Hmmm.... It is well with you. God will pick your call soon. Every one is facing the struggle this time around both those trained by their parents and those not trained by their parents.
