Peter Obi is weaponizing religion as a strategy in an already polarized country. This is a dangerous strategy from a dangerous man with dangerous consequences on our religious unity. This man didn’t hold campaign rallies but was present at all major religious gatherings! Hmmmmm His next move is Shiloh 2022... watch out. It is made worse when you find out his notoriety with weaponizing religion to divide a state. One of his enduring legacy was dividing a United state along catholic/Anglican lines. At a time like this when all we need is Unity, he is probably contesting at the wrong time. He was out of the country for days but came back just to attend the a church gathering Sabi boy no too like campaign Section 92(3) of the Electoral Act 2022 says, “Places designated for religious worship, police stations & public offices shall not be used for political campaigns, rallies &processions; or to promote, propagate or attack political parties, candidates, or their programs or ideologies.” A political party, aspirant or candidate who contravenes any of the provisions of Section 92 of the Act commits an offence and is liable on conviction in the case of an aspirant or candidate, to a maximum fine of N1,000,000 or imprisonment for a term of 12 months. and in the case of a political party, to a fine of N2,000,000 in the first instance, and N1,000,000 for any subsequent offence. Therefore, if House on the rock allows PeterObi to use their platform to campaign during Experience 2022 is a violation of Electoral Act. Peter obi stands the risk of disqualification and imprisonment as stated. House On The Rock should understand that they can be prosecuted jointly the Pastor by inec nigeria for violating electoral act. Pls be guided. |

ElSudani:Who said Muslim should not run for president? Is the present president not a Muslim? Go back and read the comment you quoted very well. He never said muslim doesn't have right to contest but why Muslim-muslim when we have other religions in a society where justice, equity and fairness reign supreme. Is Nigeria Islamic state that other religions can be represented as been done before. There's no brilliance in that young man. |

IfnobeGod20:What are the roles of the president and the vice president? Do they preach in the church or in the mosque? Are they your spiritual guidance? Do they have the power to tell you what to worship or what not to worship? Folks like you are just trying to exploit anything you think might give you an advantage in the next election no matter how ridiculous. |

fuckJones:You would have saved yourself all this rabbling without direction by just recording where he was campaigning in churches and go to INEC and submit it to them, so that he will be prosecuted and the court will either disqualify him or jail him or even both. You just heap up sentiment so that the unsuspecting Nigerians that cannot discern truth with falsehood will start spreading your unfounded rhetoric. To me, this is the most simple and simplest thing to do. Record him campaigning in churches and make it available to relevant agency and let the law take its course. If I may ask you, what law forbids a candidate from going to attend programmes in the church or mosque? No single law either in the constitution or electoral Act. As he goes to church, does he goes there to say church vote for me or vote for Peter Obi or vote for LP? As Tinubu not also moving from mosque to mosque? Oh! is the best thing after bread and butter but wrong thing for Peter Obi to do. Oh! I forgot Muslim doesn't have denomination like christain does. So he can decide to go and worship anywhere but Peter Obi doesn't have the right because that wasn't his denomination. Wack! Mr. Man, one aspirant (Tinubu) cannot be using his soft target and another one (Obi) will be handicapped because Tinubu has two heads. The law allows him as it allows Tinubu, Atiku and the rest freedom of worship and association and is not limited to any church or geographical location. If there is anyone that is using religion opportunity against the rest is Tinubu. It was his party and supporters that told us that he chose Shettima because northerners will not vote for minority christain as VP. In that, they've divided us along religion lines by that statement. You should have also sat down and ask yourself why is it that out of 18 presidential candidates, it is only Tinubu and APC that have same faith ticket, the other 17 have mix. Please think deeply before you start dividing us the more with your rhetoric. Nobody has the monopoly to use soft target, so far he did it within the ambit of the law. |

DSS aka Nigeria secret police is no longer a secret police of the Nigerian government! You are meant to operate in secret for the government, accountable to the president only. Now, DSS operates in the open, with uniforms and special assault rifles. Addressing the public on your assignments and findings on regular basis. Warning the public and societal groups to be law-abiding citizens. So, what's the secret about your organisation in Nigeria government ? |
| Re: DSS To Religious Leaders: Don't Incite Nigerians Against Government by IfnobeGod20(m): 7:21am On Dec 04, 2022 |
ElSudani:This your statement is unfounded. Mr. Man, who propound laws that guide the church and mosque? Just to tell you that government is part of the religion make up. If I may ask you, who introduced Shari'a into the constitution or is Shari'a not mention in the constitution or Shari'a not part of religion again? If you think because someone is a president or vice president and his religion doesn't matter to him or her again at the instance he or she becomes president or vice president, you're only deceiving yourself. If religion doesn't matter, why is it that when it is time for prayer, no matter what they are doing, they will leave it and go and pray? Don't hide behind one finger and say only the thing that benefit you. Would muslims have taken it with pint of salt christain-christain candidates and say no problem? Won't MURIC have raised dust and brimstone and jihad declared in the north, if such is done in a party like PDP? Mr. Man, Nigeria is a well known religion country and sensitivity of our religion colouration must be guided with all sincerity. No religion is a subservient or appendage of the other. Equity and justice demand that the weight of both visible two religions be represented in government as been done since 1999 without rancor. It's even expedient in this era of suspicion that Muslim doesn't truth christain and Christain doesn't trust Muslim. |

EMPEROROFDONBAS:Remember you started it? Imagine if Nairaland was owned by one of you! You wouldn't have allowed opposing views. Very intolerant people. So if they ban me from Nairaland I should die? They despised Nigeria at every slightest opportunity. They hated the country and anyone who stood for her. They openly wished her doom for over SEVEN YEARS now. Suddenly, just suddenly, they're now the ones claiming to be patriots who love the country better than the rest of us. |
