Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has boasted that he will win the general elections in 2023 because he has never lost an election before.

Tinubu said this in response to former Secretary-General of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, who questioned his chances of winning the next year presidential election.


Meanwhile, Tinubu in 2007 led former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign to failure then under the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Also in 2011, Tinubu failed in Nuhu Ribadu’s presidential bid when Ribadu contested under same party – ACN.

It was earlier reported that Lawal said Tinubu could not win the 2023 presidential election with a Muslim-Muslim ticket.


Tinubu spoke through the APC Presidential Campaign Council's Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga.

He emphasised that Lawal's remarks were ridiculous projections.

Tinubu said he would win the presidential election with the support of APC and President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Mere conjectures, very laughable projections. Asiwaju has never been on the ballot and lost any election. With 22 states under APC control, with the incumbent President’s backing, Asíwájú is heading for a landslide victory.”

E too sure! Bola Tinubu the Jagaban of Nigeria is our incoming President. Everywhere go balance like Lagos where busloads of Igbos from the east go to seek the Nigerian dream on a daily basis!

Somebody like Ekweremmadu and some other politicians have contested six times and won six times without any noise..

He lost the Presidency under ACN, he lost at Edo state and lost recently in Osun state. He will loose gallantly in 2023.
I know somebody will say those are state elections he never contested, but then if you know the financial war chest he deployed in those elections and even put his political reputation (which he never had anyway) especially during the Edo state governorship election and still lost woefully,then you will know that he has been losing but nobody give a hoot because he is like any other politician, you loose some, you win some.
