Around 896 BC, King Jehoshaphat of Judah was informed: “there cometh a great multitude against thee” (2 Chron. 20:2). Americans don’t deserve deliverance from our Moabites and Ammonites. America’s Christians, generally speaking, don’t deserve, and therefore can't expect, to have their prayers answered because of their worldliness and disobedience. But God has promised, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).
