Increament of school fees is eminent in education sectors across the world but the way, manner and attitude of communicating it to parents and students in Nigeria is a big problem. What is wrong in mailing all the students and guidance a year or 6 months ahead of implementations? Explaining the reasons why the action need to be taken. It appears we lack understanding as a nation.
As much as your argument is sound, it should be noted that inflation doesn't mail anyone in Nigeria.

Who could have thought that petrol would cost around 300 naira in Ibadan even though there's still fuel subsidy? Did anyone receive a mail for that? Did the government inform us last year that they were going to initiate economic measures that'll lead to what's going on currently?

I'm not supporting UNN on this. But Nigeria is in a desperate position. We just have to take whatever comes. If we can fight it, we do. If we can't, we whine and get quiet.

My own is that we must change the leadership system next year.

Country is hard.

If you have a big financial goal, inflation would just be shifting the target.

Fed uni need to increase tuition. Long over due. Those student protesting are using expensive phone, going to trips, and other luxurious life. When it comes to paying increments, they go about protesting.
Fool! So it is the students that pay their school fees right or their parents? Mumu

Hmmm.

Nigeria still has a long way to go. Quality education isn't cheap. It's why students in America are saddled with student loans.

In countries like Norway and Germany where they have free tertiary education, the citizens pay for the quality education through heavy taxation and many Nigerians don't even pay tax.

Many business try to evade tax. Talk to a company about withholding tax and see how they'll act as if you're robbing them.

We just have to pick our battles last last.
You can't blame them , if 50% of our revenue is used in developing the country we won't be in this mess.

Sit down there. Why not go to Germany and see how it is. What's the total population of Germany? How many Germans are in Universities across Germany.
the population in Germany is 81 million which is still much and they are far better than Nigeria in so many ways. I plan on going their for master.

undecided

Nigerians and entitlement mentality...those students should know that tertiary education is not compulsory...the law only recognises 6 years primary and 3 years junior secondary as compulsory.

If those going to study with contemporary universities abroad can dole out between 12 - 15 million for masters programme of just one year plus such little increase in tuition fee in Nigeria shouldn't generate such baseless protests..the universities need such funds to augment their running costs afteral the effects of inflation cuts across all strata of life.

Such meaningless protests and agitations alongside other government inconsistent policies are at the very core of our universities inability to rank favourably amongst their peers globally.
You're saying this bcoz we're in faceless platform, otherwise you should e ashamed to say it.
