We have a problem, we forget things easily, especially, when we are a bit comfortable and have been eased of pains.

Nigeria is dealing with entirely different insecurity issues of pre 2015 and now..

Before this Government came to power..NE was a hell..theatre of war...multiple bomb blast...even at places of worship including states like Kano, Kaduna..Many local government reported to be under the control of Bokoharam..

I remember clearly, the FGN cannot celebrate independence Day at Eagle Square...UN building was bombed and all..

I am not saying there are no insecurity challenge now...but, we are not experiencing what the Nation was going through back then.

There is a clear difference...Buhari Government dealt with Bokoharam, it's banditry and kidnapping he is dealing with now.
Don't mind the OP. Under GEJ's government, armoured tanks 10 in number were taken away by Boko Haram. Senior military officers ordered their soldiers to run and abandon those tanks. Boko Haram raged with satànic impetus. Today, we have much of that gone. Buhari managed things terribly and not just Obama, many of us believed he would make a better president. We should stop telling this stupid gay stories. So you think Obama expected Buhari to promote gay rights? Haba!

That people still use word like 'colonial master' in reference to the UK is emblematic of the ingrained inferiority complex plaguing the average Nigerian, and their leaders..

Countries like the UK, France etc are relatively small countries on an irreversible long term decline, yet, Nigerian leaders are still fixated on what these countries think or say about us.

Even with the current situation in Nigeria, this is a big country, with the largest economy in Africa. Countries like France, UK, or organisations like the EU can do absolutely nothing against Nigeria. They simply don't have the economic might. They need us more than we need them, but we don't know it, because we have very poor leaders.

It is frustrating that every year, a small country like the UK or France can call over 40 African leaders to London or Paris for so-called UK-Africa or France - Africa summit, and you see silly African leaders rushing there and being hoarded into a hall to be lectured. Of course our own leader is usually one of the first to turn up. Yet, none of these leaders ever insist that these summits also take place in Africa.

Can France or the UK summon all Asian or South American leaders? Africans mostly have no sense of worth.

This one say UK and France are on decline.

Checks the trade figures between the EU and Nigeria or Even Africa self, and see who import more and who export more, Nigeria and Africa import more from EU and even what we export mostly natural resources like oil and gas, Nigeria is heavily dependant in such export to stay aloft.

Africans leaders mostly have no sense of worth.

Now, every presidential candidate is jostling to go to Chatham house in London to explain their plans for Nigerians, and then the media and the populace here spend weeks endlessly analysiing every sinew of what a candidate says at Chatham house. Do UK politicians come to Abuja to explain their plans for their people?

Atiku went to France, PDP proclaimed that he was 'invited to meet Nigeria's international partners.' At the end of the day, what we saw was a solitary picture of him sitting around a coffee table with what seemed like two 25 year old admin officers who looked like they had no idea why they were asked to meet Atiku. No French minister had the time to meet him.

Obi snapped a ludicrously-staged and cringe worthy picture in front of EU building in Brussels. The picture was trumpeted as a sign that he is 'engaging with international leaders and organisations'.

Tinubu does Chartam House, and the reverberation, analysis and counter analysis is still going on till today. In fact, every day, Arise TV has one or two slots where they bring in experts to continue to discuss 'Tinubu at Chartam House'.

Yet, in the UK 99.9% of the populace don't know anything about Chartam House, and have not heard the name before. It is a largely insignificant institute in the UK, but here, we are obsessed with it. We have now made it a compulsory pre election pilgrimage for our presidential candidates to talk to us from Chartam House in a foreign country.

We have elevated these countries to a level they can't even believe. Why should the opinion of an American president or any foreign leader influence how we vote here. Every day we scrutinise every news to see if America or Europe is supporting any candidate, if we see even the most remote sigh, we start celebrating for that candidate. Is America or Europe feeding you, paying your house rent, or if you have children, paying their school fees? What is their business with our election. Anytime we see any sign of interference with how we vote and who we vote for, we should, irrespective of the candidate you support, come together to butt out or else we mount pressure on the government to pose sanctions on them.

Yes, Nigeria can impose sanctions on even the USA, let alone declining minnows like France and the UK. We just don't have the right leaders.

They Always have that power over Nigeria but I also know the US and UK wouldn't want someone that can really bring development to the country because immediately that person is sworn in, those personal gains would be reduced.

They hated Abacha due to the fact he didn't do business with them. Same as Gadaffi.

Surprisingly, they wouldn't want PO because if he really turns Nigeria to a productive country, they would lose.

But God would disgrace them

Yes, Nigeria can impose sanctions on even the USA, let alone declining minnows like France and the UK. We just don't have the right leaders.

Lots of low IQ people would avoid your comment like a plague.

What you said is the whole truth.

What is this running up and down for validation for? I say it often, none of these presidential candidates is fit to be, even a Councilor. They have no sense of human worth, absolutely none.

Why do we see countries like France, USA, UK etc, as superior to ours? It is truly a shame.

This is why the Asians are making significant progress in technology, economy and industry...they ensure originality and pay serious attention to their own uniqueness - what works for them. Their civilization and modernizations are laced around their cultures and traditions.

Nigerians will tell you that Nigerian politicians who steals and relocates billions of public money to France, the UK, the USA etc, are corrupt, but will extol leaders from these countries, where our commonwealth are being taken to. Isn't that madness?

You condemn a thief but extol the one who helps him hide his loot...what sort of madness is that? We queue up at embassies wanting to travel to these countries that have remained 'forever' partners of our thieving political class, and often get officially swindled of our hard-earned monies in the guise of visa denials. The percentage of those who get visas is way negligible compared to those that are denied daily. These countries further 'mess' our minds by allowing a few qualify to enter their countries. Those who are fortunate to make it through call it a miracle, and even go to testify in Churches. Millions are subjected to prayer marathons for visas, leaving them at the mercies of other husslers in the forms of agents and pastors. Millions of Africans have be ruined trying to travel abroad.

Now, these countries rake in billions and deny millions visas, frustrate them and further destroy their self esteem. If you won't let someone into your country, why make them go through all the hassles? Should these visa processes be what they currently are? Aren't these visa processes modernized scam syndicates by countries? What is wrong with interviewing a potential foreign traveler first to see if they qualify, and making them pay after you've ascertained their qualification to enter your country? I am very well aware of the angle that 'these countries aren't forcing anyone to come over'...but does that justify the huge rip offs of people ( most of whom are already dehumanized by bad leadership) in the name of visa fees?

It is high time Africans, and indeed Nigerians stopped dehumanizing themselves and glorifying their fellow humans. How can a qualified doctor, lawyer or engineer leave Africa, and has to spend millions to study afresh, if they have to practice abroad... otherwise they can only work as caregivers, drivers or gardners? We have to wake up to upgrading our education systems and start making real progress. The insult is getting too much. We need to start taking leadership seriously, especially at the Ward and LG levels.

What is Tinubu doing at Chatham House? What is Chatham House? Obi is planning his own Chatham House visit? Kwankwaso recently appeared somewhere in Washington DC. Atiku only recently claimed he was invited to engage top US officials. When would all these nonsense end?

It hurts so much, especially when you know how so much blessed our country is, and how much wealth we can create, to provide our people the best lives they can have anywhere on earth.
