Actually, Nigeria has only two planned cities (in fact all cities are supposed to be planned) — Abuja and Lagos, every other so-called city is a glorified town; so they're not reckoned internationally.

Had Lagos remain a separate colony as it were before amalgamation, it would have been competing with Dubai by now. They are taking Lagos revenue to develop other states. The whole of Benin republic depends on sea ports revenue from Cotonou, imagine Lagos keeps its ports revenue and also has less economic migrants from all over Nigeria, especially the South East and north.


Lagos being the Capital of Nigeria was a curse, not a blessing. Lagos is overpopulated with 20 million people crammed into a 3000sqkm space.

The best Lagos would've been without other Nigerian regions is like their next door neighbor, Benin Republic. Same culture, same language and the same people.

Anyways Lagos is overcrowded thats why it seems hard to control, clean and sharpen into a livable city and africans don't embrace cleanliness.

I won't blame Tinubu or Sanwo Olu, even though i am Obidient. But i will blame we citizens that chose not to embrace cleanliness but put blame on the Government for our failure to help ourselves.

Apart from cleanliness does Lagos state have basic infrastrctures befitting a mega city like Lagos?
