The narrations on apostasy/blasphemy are well known and accepted by me just like committing treason the punishment is death once every condition has been met, I'm unapologetic about the stance of Islam on these issues. There are no truths in what the opponents of Islam have said they take isolated cases and specific issues to generalize without taking into context what warrant certain rulings.

Nigeria's penal code still has the death penalty by the way. and Nigeria's constitution allows for death penalty following a blasphemy conviction in Sharia Court

I know a strawman argument when I see one. It's exactly what you are making.

Supporting the killings for (real or alleged) blasphemy is even worse than supporting killing for cross-dressing which happen in Brunei, Iran, Yemen and many other countries.

Repulsive as cross-dressing is, killing for it is an over-kill. Now try to defend Amoto's continuous championing of killing anyone who supposedly offends his religious sensibilities.

I can support the death penalty for a convicted murderer for example. It doesn't mean I support jungle justice.

Islam does not preach death penalty for blasphemy. Its not in the Qur'an or hadith of holy prophet Muhammad [PBUH].

According to Qur'an;

"And when you see those who trifle with our signs then turn thou away from them until then engage in a discourse other than that and if Satan cause thee to forget then sit not, after recollection, with the unjust people." (Ch.6: V.69)

You are advised to walk away, not to arm or kill anyone.

However, there are different Sects with different interpretation and understanding of some Ayats and verses in the Hadith. This has resulted to different understanding of Fikh.

Wahhabism Sect, most Arab Nations are practicing it, believe in death penalty, while Shi'a Muslims practiced dominantly in Iran, some parts of Iraq and Lebanon do not believe in it.

Hadith and Fikh. There are many questionable hadiths out there. I'll rather stick with teachings in the Qur'an than hadith.

Even so called Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim have been found wanting. Both are not as sound as we were made to believe at Madrasah.
