Death penalty extreme? I think some crimes deserve death penalty.

If you deny another person life intentionally(not in self defence), then you do not deserve to live. That is my own opinion
Thank you

You sabi road o. That Ansarudeen near FRSC office in Ota. Why does everywhere in Ota look like dystopian landscape?
Ota looked okay in the late 90's and early 2000's. Traffic was always bad but Gateway to Lafenwa on to Idi-Iroko going to Winners, The Bells and all those companies had good roads.

Carnivals were regular even at Tomori Estate but after Gbenga Daniels left, everything went downhill and most people just remained in Lagos and avoided the filth of Otta.

Otta was very cool back then. IGGS was a top choice school too, for Nigerians and expatriates alike.

The laws of the land should always be respected, whether it makes sense to you or not.

Its their land their rules
Whose land is Sokoto? Nigeria or Muslims?

Nigerian land. So research the laws of the place and follow it

There is such a thing as rule of law, which is what everybody seems to be keen to ignore in Amoto's case.

He said he believes one thing, but subject to rule of law.

Support for death penalty is a subjective topic. Even in yankee death penalty exists in some states and doesn't exist in others.

Here in the UK, there's no crime that warrants the death penalty. Izzou do you support the death penalty? If you do, then what exactly is your point?
I do not support the penalty of death for Deborah..

She was killed for posting whatever on her Department's WhatsApp group.

If someone says he doesn't support jungle justice on her, but supports her to be killed by a court judgment because of posting on that WhatsApp group, what difference does it make?

The context is Deborah, and i think that is what brought this discussion. If we stick to her case, it doesn't make any difference trying to separate the mode of killing

Which law did Deborah break that makes Amoto's support of her killing logical?

She died for nothing

Every religion disrespects other religions.

Every religion denigrates other religions

This especially applies to middle Eastern religions which celebrate rebels who blaspheme against established religions of their day.

These will tell you in no uncertain terms that everyone else is misled or worshipping powerless idols etal.

The best we can do is learn to respect boundaries.

But no one can or should call for any death penalty.

BlueRayDick has already described an incident from before before when some traditional worshippers killed a popular imam who was purging /desecrating (depending on where you are coming from) shrines etal.

And they cornered him and killed him. If that happened today the same Muslims celebrating Deborah's death would be demanding justice for the imam - while the imams actions are actually more egregious.

But there's no death penalty for blasphemy. Especially without trial.

Which is true. Which makes the killing of Deborah an extra judicial killing

You are not allowed to kill anyone without going through the legal process

Even if you kill the king of Saudi and his family, you still have to go through the court and have the court sanction a death penalty

I don't think Deborah broke any law that deserves death penalty even in Sharia.

According to trnscript of the whatsapp chat I read she said. "This is a whatsapp group created for assignment and group study, not for religious topics" Thats my extract which might not be everything so IMO how does this qualify as blasphemy?

Even if she committed an offence in the law, its for the judge to say it and give the punishment not for the mob

Why do Nigeria employers make age restrictions for advertised employment?

I think law makers should look into abolishing this because I believe it is a form of discrimination and ageism.

After ASUU have used the prime age and wasted it
Employers sef go start their own then you will see 75 years old man still working because his football work age have been reduced to meet up with the job criteria

Na part of "job no reach" mentality. I once worked with an Iranian in US who told me "US is the best country in the world, where else will someone employ a 61yr old like me"

Once job no reach na to begin device various means of screening people out. Imagine on top 5yr course come add like another 4yrs of ASUU strike. Soon they will say 20yrs old with 6packs and 6ft tall female with size 25 waist
