A Kano Shari’a Court has sentenced an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abduljabar Nasiru Kabara, to death by hanging over blasphemy.

Kabara, who commands a large followership in Kano, was found guilty of making blasphemous statements against the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (SAW).

which true religion? Did God ask humans to take vengeance or leave vengeance to him?

In the first place, there should be no such crime as Blasphemy against mythical characters recorded in some spiritual books.

The judgement is archaic and should have no place in a modern and democratic society. I condemn it totally. Hopefully, it will be upturned as usual by the appeal court.
