You miss the point completely, typical of Africans and the way they argue and debate..........you people tend to conflate points! you are combining my support for self preservation with support for willful brigandage! you are totally wrong!

Those kidnapping and killing in the name of Biafra agitation, will be flushed out soon enough, however the fulanis massacring our people how fast do you believe they can be identified and brought to justice?

I am puzzled by one point though! how come the Eastern governors did not establish Ebubeagu when the Fulanis where killing reverend fathers and peoples of Enugu and ebonyi states................a feat the southwest Governors accomplished in less than 3 months! Why won't Simon Ekpa take control of the south east when those tasked with the duty of ruling us cannot do the needful..............

SOLUDO COMMISSIONS DOZIE NWANKWO ICT CENTER, CALLS ON NDI ANAMBRA IN THE DIASPORA TO INVEST IN THE STATE

By Christian ABURIME

Abambra State Governor Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has called on ndị Anambra in the diaspora to help develop the state by investing their resources home.

Governor Soludo made the call at the commissioning of Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Centre for Development and ICT in the hilly, serene centre of Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State

Hon. Nwankwo is the member representing Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka Federal Constituency as well as the Senatorial Candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Anambra Central.

According to the Governor, human capital is the greatest resource owned by Ndị Anambra which must be harnessed and developed.

While referring to the state as head of Tech hub in Nigeria, he expressed excitement about such gesture by the lawmaker, admitting that his attendance at the event is for the betterment of Anambra.

"Only Government cannot fix Anambra State. The whole resources and budget of the state in the hands of government is barely two percent (2%). Ninety-eight percent (98%) is in private pockets.

"To develop Anambra will require massive application of Public Community Private Partnership.

"Tonimas is remembered today because he tarred 18 kilometer of roads with drainages singlehandedly in his community," the Governor said.

"We have come to celebrate Onyedozi because you will be remembered by your works. The Campus being built in Enugwu Ukwu is also a giant stride in the state.

"I will be the Chief Protocol Officer of any Project that will be embarked upon in Anambra.

"Our mission is to build a liveable and prosperous homeland. This kind of development is at the heart of our agenda, to make Anambra a digital tribe.

"We have set aside some billions for Youth empowerment and the Bank of Industry will also bring matching funds.

"We are pleading with Ndị Anambra to come out and contribute their quota towards the development of the State. This is the 'Akụ luo ụnọ' model because it will touch lives.

"We signed a contract with two companies to mount fibre optics to provide high speed internet at a cheaper cost.

"The beneficiaries from this project will be students, graduates and non-graduates.

"I thank you immensely Onyedozi. You have prioritized human capital even in primary health, ICT and education. These are examples of human capital.

"The roads Onyedozi requested for construction are very important because that's the greatest desire of Ndị Anambra. Indeed we have a road crises in Anambra.

"As at Monday, we have awarded over 250km of roads and we shall construct all of them.

"Our party slogan is "onye aghana nwanne ya". We will give life to those who have no access to good roads," Governor Soludo stressed.

"By the time we complete 24 months in office, every local government will be touched. Very soon, something will start at Oyi LGA.

"We are spending close to N2 billion naira on Federal roads because we can't keep waiting for the Federal Government. Igboukwu - Ichida - Nnobi Roads are all federal roads and we are intervening.

"At Ogbaru, there are roads that are completely washed off because of the flooding.

"Anambra must be secured but it must take all of us working together. If you see something, say something. If you can do anything, do it.

"I must commend our vigilantes, security agencies and every onye Anambra who are volunteering information to us. Together Anambra will continue to win.

"Onyedozi you have set the pace. I encourage you to keep doing the great work you are doing. This ICT Center will be pivotal in our agenda for Anambra State.

"Enugwu Ukwu is the land of the wealth! I am sure Enugwu Ukwu have more than ten Tonimas.

On his part, Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo who described the ICT Center as one of his pet projects said that skills development, ICT and education which have a special place in the affairs of Governor Soludo will help in the progress of his government.

According to him, the skills development/acquisition section of the building has the following units; cosmetology, food processing, wood work, fashion and designing, hair dressing, confectionaries, photography, video editing, cinematography, security system, surveillance, interior decoration and civil finishing.

He pleaded with Governor Soludo to consider partnering with the centre and use it for government ICT trainings, CBT examinations, skills acquisition and any other activity deemed appropriate.

He also disclosed that his constituency office is attached to the same complex which will serve the purpose of easy accessibility to his constituents.

He also stated that he attracted a Campus of Federal College of Agriculture Ishiagu to Enugwu Ukwu and the pioneer students are currently in their second year.

The lawmaker appreciated Governor Soludo for the employment of 5000 teachers, flagging of over 50km of roads in Anambra Central, dredging of 500 metres of Mmili John River, culvert de-silting and widening of water flow, flood control at Ogbunike/Ogidi section of Enugu-Onitsha old road, major interventions on two sections of Amansea axis of Enugu-Onitsha old road and intervention on Inland Doors axis of Nkpor-Umuoji Doad.

Concluding, Hon. Nwankwo solicited for the people's unflinching support in his quest to represent them as a Senator for Anambra Central on the platform of APGA.

SOLUDO HARPS ON SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE STATE AND CHURCH, REAFFIRMS ANAMBRA AS GOD'S OWN STATE

By Christian ABURIME

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has called for increased partnership with the Church to help sustain his administration's transformation agenda.

Governor Soludo made the call during the Annual Thanksgiving and Official Inauguration of the newly
re-elected officers of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter.

The event was held at Life of Faith Gospel Assembly Cathedral, Housing Estate Onitsha.

In his remarks at the occasion, Governor Soludo referred to the church as the biggest partner in the state and society transformation agenda of his administration.

"If I had missed this event, it would be a huge sense of loss. The foundation is strong and you will succeed," he said.

"What happened here isn't an ordinary thing. The new Executives of PFN are consecrated to succeed. And you must succeed.

"When I was sworn in on the 17th of March, we said there won't be fanfare celebrations.

"Your first day on duty is the day you show to your employers that you are up to the job; not a day for drinking and dancing.

"We took the oath of office at the government house, we read our speech and got to work. All the Bishops of Pentecostals, Catholics and so on; each one of them prayed in unison and that's the hour we set the tone that Anambra is God's own state.

"Each time we proclaim this, whatever force that comes bows because Jesus is greater than all. Anambra will win," Governor Soludo stressed.

"We must leave this place better than we met it. God has given us the talent and resources to succeed.

"I was very excited when I heard that PFN has built a hospital which is a major feat of human capital.

"Government accounts for 30% of the health sector while the private and mission hospitals account for 70%. The government is an insignificant player in the health sector.

"The government will like to know about the hospital because we want to partner to some extent.

"In education, the government accounts for 40% while private and mission accounts for 60%," Governor Soludo said.

"Our life expectancy in this country is very low. For male it's 54years while for women, it is 56years.

"On average, in the USA, it's 76 years and 78 years for male and female respectively.

"Our health facilities are poor, and our environment is dirty. God will not come down from heaven to fix our health sector.

"The Church must be a major channel of execution of public sector programmes and policies.

"Our mission is to bring back public provision of these facilities and we shall be regulating them to ensure that some standards are met.

"We have declared war on the environment to desilt our drainages.

"We ask for your prayers and partnership between the church and the state in delivering service. Help to communicate it to the people.

"The Church has a powerful role to play. Take the message home. I preach about personal responsibility," Governor Soludo noted.

"The Government exists to provide the greatest good for the greatest number. It's not a convenience for the few. Someone must take the bullet for the greater good of the people.

"We must all stand up for this here on earth. Government and the church in partnership must do the work of God.

"Be the change you want to see. Start from your church and your environment. We will partner with the church to deliver the big agenda. Security, law and order must return to Anambra," Soludo maintained.

"We just signed a contract to lay Fibre optics about Kilometers around Anambra, to have access to high speed internet. It would be a total game changer! Technology everywhere, and everything technology. That's the mission because Anambra is the light of the nation.

"We have recruited 5000 teachers to end the phenomena of schools without teachers. By doing so, we have done something that hasn't been done in Nigeria. It's not about connection but merit based. Your State of origin doesn't even matter.

"The interest of every child is to be taught by the best teacher available, not a teacher from the child's village.

"My litmus test to recruit a teacher is to ask myself, whether I will be proud for the teacher to teach my child. We must lead by example. We recruited many people who are not ndi Anambra. We need the best teachers despite their state of origin.

"To be transparent, we published the names of the recruited teachers and their scores," Soludo stressed

"In the First Republic, the Southeast region was the fastest, growing economy in the world with taxes paid by peasant farmers. We built Onitsha, Aba, Port-Harcourt etc.

"Oil money came and People forgot that citizens have to pay for public services.

"Part of the revolution going on is that we are re-establishing the social contract between the government and the people.

"Under my watch as your Chief servant, we pledge to account for every Kobo you put in our hands. So long as I am here, it will be value for money.

"I see one body of Christ. I don't see why there must be dividing lines. Christians must unite to defeat idolatry.

For his part, the Chairman of PFN, Anambra State Chapter, Bishop Moses Ezedebego stated that PFN is the umbrella organization which coordinates the body of Christ under the Pentecostal Churches for the purpose of unity as underlined by the prayer of the Lord Jesus in John 17.

Bishop Moses Ezedebego while applauding Governor Soludo for honoring the event, he appreciated the founding fathers of PFN in Anambra State and used the opportunity to thank all the Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Chapters of PFN Anambra State for their public vote of confidence in his administration which was inaugurated on 12th September, 2018.

Bishop Ezedebego said that since then, there have been experiences of phenomenal growth and success despite facing some challenges.

In attendance were the National President of PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, National Inauguration Chairman, Archbishop Joseph Ojo, National Vice President PFN SouthEast, Bishop Maxwell Korie, National Secretary PFN, Rev. Dr. Cosmas Ilechukwu, Royal Fathers, Spiritual Fathers, Members of SAC/SEC PFN Anambra State, Political Candidates of Various political parties among others.

SOLUDO INAUGRATES OIL AND GAS DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE, DESCRIBES ANAMBRA AS THE GAS CAPITAL OF NIGERIA

By Christian ABURIME

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has inaugurated the Anambra State Oil and Gas Development Committee.

He performed the function at the Government House, Awka.

Barrister Uju Ifejika is the Chairperson, while the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is the Secretary.

Vice Chairman of the Committee is Engr. Ikechukwu G. Okafor.

Other members include the Commissioner for Transport, Barr. Patricia Igwebike, Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, Mrs. Nkechi Obi, Prof K.K. Nwozor and Dr. Chris Ofokansi.

Others are Chief Tony Okwesa, Engr. Jideofor Chukwuemeka Etele, Barr. Anthony Ifeanya, Engr. Somtochukwu Mezie Okoye, Dr. Boniface Emengini, Emmanuel Nwabia,Mr. Francis Abuah Nwabueze and Barr. Anthony C. Madichie.

While pointing out that Anambra has joined other states as an oil and gas producing state, Governor Soludo stressed the necessity of having a formal committee because, according to him, 'to exploit oil and gas, one has to pass through the land.'

Speaking further, Governor Soludo said, "land in Anambra is a very scarce commodity, as such, special care should be given, to ensure that the right things are done."

"With the hostile environment we have, our own land is prone to erosion, flooding and degradation.

"Our landmass is shrinking. Anambra is the headquarters of gully erosion in the country for the remaining part of our land to be damaged by exploitation of land and mass.

"I am trying to situate the importance of this committee. Anambra is unique in the sense that we have no offshore. Everything is onshore, on the land people use for farming," Governor Soludo said.

"It's a blessing that we have this huge resource domiciled in Anambra. 35.5 million cubic feet of gas which is about 18% of proven gas in Nigeria.

"I don't know of any other state that has a higher percentage. And so we can really say that Anambra is the gas capital of Nigeria.

"It's supposed to be a huge blessing but there's a threat as earlier enumerated.

"With a huge investment in the oil sector, we need to be guided because we don't want to repeat the same mistakes of the past.

"Being a late comer is a blessing in disguise because we wouldn't want to repeat the same mistakes of the past in Anambra," Governor Soludo noted.

"In this context, we decided to have a team of experts, those who know about oil and gas. I know little about oil and gas.

"The experts are here and I must thank all the members of this committee for accepting to serve Anambra.

"You are all very distinguished professionals in your various fields.

"Yours is to help us navigate through the uncharted waters in the state.

"Societies that have abundant resources end up being poor.

"Both the state, oil companies and communities are supposed to contribute," thec Governor stressed.

He continued; "you need to advise us as a government on major policies on exploitation and take inventory of what we have. What are the best ways to engage?

"We hope to engage the federal government and oil operators very actively on this, help us screen and promote investment opportunities in these sectors.

"We need to have responsible investors in place. We are not going to wait until the damage is done.

"On our part as the state government in next year's budget, we have set aside 5% for investment purposes. The oil companies have to do theirs.

"If anything, host communities need to become models.

"We need your advice and guidance. How do we get this thing in a sustainable and profitable manner."

Governor Soludo added; "the gas we have is quite a huge chunk.

"There should be no limit to the scope of your thinking and steps to be taken.

"The Chairperson is one that doesn't take a no for an answer. I'm quite excited to have her on this team.

"We can only develop Anambra because we have the human resources and capital to take the state to the next level.

"If everybody can contribute a little bit of their time, resources and talent, we can make it anything we want to be.

"These are people paying to serve! God didn't make a mistake to make you an 'onye Anambra'.

"On the last day, God will ask how you made this state better," Soludo concluded.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barr. Anthony Ifeanya disclosed that Anambra has 13 blocks/concessions within its blocks namely; OPL 228, OPL 280, OPL 901 to 907, OPL 914, OPL 915 & 916 (Operated by Orient Oil Resources), and OPL 91.

He noted that activities in the OPL have not helped because it is believed that Anambra basin is mostly gas and since there's no gas infrastructure in the SouthEast, the urge to explore and exploit the gas resources isn't there.

"Global warming and climate volatility are now existential threats to humanity and the environment. The world needs to accelerate efforts to achieve net-zero and mitigate global warming effects in Africa's climate because people and agriculture will suffer in the coming years," he said.

While stating that oil remains the main driver for Nigeria's development, Commissioner Ifeanya maintained that the Anambra basin holds an estimated gas reserve of over 30TCF and 1.3 billion barrels.

In a vote of thanks, Chairman of the committee, Barr. Uju Ifejika, expressed happiness about the rare privilege of being called to serve the people, more importantly, in a field where she has invested 36 years of her life.

"Within that period, I did a lot of things with my team. We have the upstream, downstream and midstream.

"In terms of knowledge base, we can come up with something collectively.

"Before we do anything, we will have to meet after this Inauguration and for the records, I am a workaholic," she pointed out.

"The first thing is to convert OML and OPL. We have to get that done, if not, we will lose it.

"We will have workshops, engage oil companies, communities so they tell us what project they want.

"There will be a board from the Communities and we have to do it correctly.

"Looking at the gas we have, we need gas gathering infrastructure and do an appraisal to actually know what we have which shall be done by a reputable international and research evaluation company.

"With the current transition from fossil oil to green energy, nobody will look at you.

"Fossil fuel will still remain relevant but we need to start somewhere," she said.

"The basic things we will look at is the ease of doing these things.

"If you make the investor feel comfortable, he will come in and bring other investors. The Government must help us.

"It must be a seamless and continuous process if we want to go into it.

"We need the Governor to give us the needed support in certain approvals to make the job easier for the committee and enable us leave a legacy the people will be proud of," she pleaded.

Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe, Former Special Adviser on Political Matters, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, among others, also attended the event.

This is what i like seeing! The airport is getting busier....just look at the sea of cars in the car park!

It's good Obiano settled for nothing but the best and the airports expansion and upgrade should continue with the present admin'! The Soludo admin' could seek private investors for a multi-level car park of say 4 or 5 levels. It would be a money spinner and could pay for itself within two years.

I won't lie, the airport was a good idea but I hated the source of the funding.

I hope they are bringing in nothing less than 500,000,000 Naira monthly.

I seem to remember reading where the Taraba state governor said Obiano told him he financed the project from the savings Peter Obi made for the state. Surely that’s better than borrowing and i reckon Obi should be commended for his fiscal prudence.

The airport is surely coining it in, but i think 500 million per month is a tad overly optimistic! grin Just wondering the kind of sharing formula being used between the federal and state gov’ts to share revenue generated from the airport? I ask because i don’t remember the federal gov’t contributing shi-shi towards its construction.
