Are you suggesting that democratic ideals are no longer ideal? Because why is it a problem if the majority of people in a region want some type of law?

There's a reason why I have consistently laid out the history of Sharia Law in Nigeria on this forum. Sharia was included in our constitution at Independence, courtesy of the legacy of Freddie Lugar who felt Islam was better suited to the constitution of the average African, and actively thwarted any attempts to introduce any other religions and educational systems in Nothern Nigeria. His British successors would go as far as sacking any chief that converted to Christianity in the North.

This is thing is only an issue because Southern Nigeria is unequally yoked to ideological unbelievers - what's my business with how things are done in Saudi or Yemen? If the bastard Freddie Lugard had not joined all of us together for Unilever, we would be discussing how weird things are done in the neighboring county of Notheristan right now.

Divide this useless nation
Your pm before before said the best argument against democracy is a discussion with the average voter.

People have always used religion as political lightning rods. Look at Americans who have always disdained Catholics and all they stand for conned into opposing abortion all because some smart politicos saw abortion (a Catholic thing) could be used to manipulate pentecostals

Wrong..... Very very wrong perspective you have of him.
Wake up guy
He will never appear murderous or aggressive
Infact you can never see him with dirt or crime, all they do is brainwash their comrades with lies to carry out the dirty act
Did you see his last post he still insist on death for blasphemy yet the prophet never for once carried out such killing
Several time he invited me to face Sharia court so they can kill me grin grin
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 6:12pm On Dec 15, 2022
Even if Nigeria today somehow abolishes Sharia law in all the Muslim states and outlaws every blasphemy nonsense, will it stop Amoto and other core believers from protesting that it should be reinstated or will it stop his inate belief that every so called blasphemer must die?

undecided

Well.. this is the thing... What would Amoto do if he was in a society where he was in the majority? Where these acts may actually be celebrated?

ISIS is an example of that. Several people raised across the world as Liberal Muslims went to Syria and went fully medevial.

Mania, peer pressure I don't know what it was but it happened.

It won't.

But that's fine.

Anybody should have the right to believe whatever they want.

But no Court will be sentencing people to death for the crime of Blasphemy.

I don't think you guys actually really the gravity of this point sha.

Oga whatever you may perceive as Obi's shortcomings, Tinubu's is 10 times worst.
We have to make a choice because one of them must rule us by this time next year.

Whose will be better?? That's the question.
Statistics has shown us that Obi performed better than Tinubu "relative to resources available".
Obi has astounding legacies on education, rural development and economic balancing in the state.
One of the only governors not to borrow a single dime throughout his tenure in office, do you know what that means? A governor who at the time of leaving office was not owing any single salary or pension. A governor who has not received a penny from state government while others feed fat on state resources.

I could go on and on but I'm sure you already know all these but is trying Soo hard to give yourself flimsy reason why you would be a coward on the sidelines. Sorry for that word but it is what it is. Saying you're not voting is an absolute surrender to the wicked politics being played. Keep playing the ostrich.
Are you really talking about someone that invested the state money into his family business?
You forgot Pandora paper?
You mean the one that was caught with raw cash on his way to Lagos? Are we even sure if that was his first time? We cannot really sure how many cash he had stacked in soakaway?

What does this same person needed pension or senate for?

Ahbeg make we give ourselves brain here. No be everbody dull.

First of all, anyone's belief shouldn't be a threat to my life because I believe another thing. It is that belief that gave rise to the law unfortunately. Without the belief that blasphemy equals death, it won't be a Sharia law to start with.

In essence, wrong belief leads to wrong laws.

I don't think you actually understand what I'm saying.

If the majority of people believe something enough to make a law based on that belief, then who are you to say their beliefs are wrong?

What you really should be annoyed is the insanity of a situation where such laws were allowed to pass in a country where Islam is not a majority.

Nigeria should either be:

A: Recognised as a multicultural state where blasphemy related death penalty cannot exist because it unfairly violates non-muslim citizen rights by default

Or

B: Split into multiple countries and let the stans do their thing.

It is absolutely shocking that Nigeria has rules that allowed courts from one religion to sentence non-adherents of the religion to Death, regardless of belief.

Leicester and Birmingham are majority Muslim cities in rhe UK, and it is unthinkable for such laws to exist there even if all the Muslims and their mothers share such beliefs.

Me? Ah dy mad?

Mo batified shiere.
I was even discussing along with one of my padi for school yewterday suddenly, he asked me, who am I voting for? I said Tinubu, he was shocked being that he is from kaduna south, I repeated it... Tinubu mr man. He said why now... I was surprised he was asking why?
I immediately knew the angle he was coming from. He hates El rufai more than the devil and even wish he can exchange it with devil ( a red flag).

I told him I recognise the fact that the APC ticket is not being fair to my Christain brothers but I look beyond religion when choosing a leader.

He said he prefers Atiku or Obi, I said fine. But whatever comes from voting Atiku, be ready for another Fulani bloodshed like my guy in power now.
Werey was somehow not happy. I told him I choose Tinubu simply because he has the best team for the job. Werey was nodding an I said, while respect your decision to go for either obi or Atiku, please do well by looking beyond social media, orators and messiah. History has taught us a lot about them.

Make February do quick now. We want to teach some people politics 111.

Lol, this is a rather naive take. What thief would say no to more when they know the more they're getting is in fact their entitlement?

Tinubu who till today has a direct pipe from the Lagos state government's purse into his pocket hasn't said no to pension.
Akapabio/Amaechi and other governors from oil-rich SS states haven't said "Okay, I stole enough as governor from my rich state, lemme rest small", they're still hustling for positions and collecting pensions.
But it's PO from Anambra that will feel like he's stolen enough that he should now say no to money that he's in fact entitled to cheesy cheesy cheesy

I'm annoyed quite alright that's why I'll keep saying it's wrong till tomorrow. Doesn't matter what the majority over there believe, if it infringes on anyone's fundamental human right, it's a straight line to hell.

Everyday we shit on traditional worshippers. We demonise them. But if this was a truly equal and plural society where no diety pass another diety people would be sentenced to death for that as well.

The Irony is that most of the paki Muslims in England enjoying Liberal democracy will still support and celebrate persecution of minorities back home.

Joe, you've forgotten so soon a Nigerian atheist , Mubarak Bala, who was kidnapped by Hisbah since 2020 then after international outcry he was tried for blasphemy and sentenced to 24 years imprisonment this year?

He only got away with prison sentence because of pressure groups from the West.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-60997606
Alright, I understand this now. I believe he was only arrested and convicted because he was in Kano. Fancy him being arrested for blasphemy in a place like Lagos.

Also, the guy had like 18 charges slammed against him for which he pleaded guilty. That says alot, no?

You're angry with the Muslim who believes in death penalty, not the country that created a court system that allows you to be legally tried and executed for saying something someone somewhere doesn't like.

Nihilistjnr I know as long as the law remains, the likes of Amoto and other fanatics will always hide behind it and use it as a defense to kill.

However, the law aside, Amoto innately believes death is the answer to every deemed blasphemous utterance. This is who he is law or no law and this is the crux of the matter. The law is just a means to an end.

As long as you continue to conflate judicial process with extra judicial killings. You will never truly comprehend the gravity of what it means to have capital penalty for blasphemy offence in Nigeria

If you truly understood what I'm telling you, you wouldn't be forming obidient or inconsequentially trying to take the moral high ground. You would want to divide the country immediately.

There is a law in that country that allows you, a non-muslim, to be sentenced to death by the courts in your own country, for simply saying something against another religion.

You are legally a second-class citizen in the country of your birth.

You really need to take a moment to contemplate this fact before you try to respond to me. This one pass online debate.
