How Igbo Men Easily Give Themselves Away Unnecessarily. True Experience by jumper524(op): 10:15am On Dec 17, 2022
Here's my true experience.
I have this friend whos about to get married and wanted to migrate to a different area to start fresh, so we went to look for house to rent and finally saw one that's about 10min in drive from our former area. The house was a nice house but was in bad shape so we had to make some agreement with the caretaker on what needed to be done. We sha got to an agreement to pay extra 50k for fittings in the house.
Let me narrate the real issue here now. Im a Muslim and this my said friend is a christain. Im the most agressive amongst us all so when it comes to physical strength and presence, they always need me.
This care taker was non challant about the fittings to be done and was like we don already pay so na we go do the fittings, probably taking advantage of this my christain friend calm nature. He called me but I couldn't make it that day so one of our igbra friend whos also a Muslim went there. That one no waste time begin change am for the caretaker, dude still held his ground and was irresponsible claiming it was his area and nothing can be done. Well amongst us, im the indegenes so I knew I had to show up.
On getting there the next day, I tried to follow an a peaceful resolution hoping the guy would Bleep up so I can have enough reason to deal with him in his own area. Dude was complying and was more calm though.
Later he called me one side and was talking to me calmly and complaining that we are all christain here unknown to him I'm a Muslim, and that why would we bring a Muslim to try and divide us that that igbra man was too violent. I just noded my head in agreement, after all I don't really care cos I know he's only trying to be political, my main concern was for him to compromise to our agreement which he agreed to my face but didn't implement it despite giving him extra 30k.
Well we had to get things done the hard way before the dude could do it right.
My point his, the igbo man was only being political but ignorant. FYI the area the incident happened is a Muslim dominant populated area in kuje (agwan gade). If I was an extremist, I could trigger religious settings and won him blue black but I refused cos I judge people by intention not action.
Dude was just one crook who only gets things done by force.

Peace my people dude might not be so lucky next time.

I've multiple scenario of such outings. 90% of the times with igbos. See the poster below you, if he resides in a Muslim dominated area, dude would be more careful and is most likely to do same rubbish out of ignorance. There are northerners living peacefully in the south without fear and vice versa. Only extremist would be afraid of leaving his comfort zone and live peacefully.

I'll tell you, imagine me in anambra calling an igbo christain aside cos he dressed in kaftan for the day out of ignoramce and condemning his religion. That's stupidity. If i m unfortunate, that man might trigger a level of bigotry on me easily. Religion is many people soft spot not me.

I have no hatred against igbo people but i also realised something, they are the first to always bring up tribe or religion.

I was in a meeting about resolving some issues, the igbo man in the group was praising how igbo men were good businessmen, the next thing he did started to bothered me, he started calling yoruba men names even though he knew there were yorubas in the meeting, some people from other tribes told the yoruba people that the igbo man was abusing them but the yorubas ignored and handled it diplomatically even though they were angry.

I started realising something, the igbo people are the first to bring up tribe or religion in any situation, they tend to praise their own tribe and then demean others even when it is not needed. If the yoruba people in that meeting had retaliated, the igbo man would have said, they hate igbo people.

Igbo people should learn to respect others and respect will be given back, you cant go to a situation with we vs them mentality or we are better than them mentality, it always does not end well and often leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the people in a settingor gathering.

every tribe has a problem, the Igbos should identify this problem about themselves and improve on it. It's a big problem.

Asides the poor attempt at instigating the usual NL tribal bashing, what I find disturbing is that amongst ur described circle of friends, only the Muslims are the violent ones and you seem proud of it.... why?? huh

Good.. Have you identified your own tribe problem and amplifying it like you are doing for the Igbos?? You are obsessed with the igbo tribe instead of being obsessed with your own tribe.. Create a thread about your own tribe and their weaknesses and advice them how to manage it.. It's why I always told my fellow Yorubas that we should first look inward and condemn what we are bad at, make corrections before we start checking our neighbour's actions and inactions..
