Nigerians are witnessing the highest level of desperation ever displayed by politicians in a long while. And it is because the ‘structure’ that some of them so much bragged about is being dismantled before their very eyes. When the Naira redesign policy was announced sometimes in October, I was among those who rejoiced about it as we believe the policy will even the 2023 elections and eliminate, to a great extent, the influence of money on the outcome of the election. Some people, however, laughed at us and reminded us that this is Nigeria, and that the big shots (their candidates) will be able to get back same volume of cash in the new currency like they had stashed away in the old one. We told them not to be so optimistic about it but they laughed at; that we are babies in Nigerian politics and in how the Nigerian system works. But a bigger shock was coming … Just as they were still very optimistic that their big shots will bypass the system and get back billions of the new naira in cash to prosecute the election, CBN hit again. This time it was on withdrawal limit. N100,000 a week and N20,000 naira a day for individuals and some little bigger limit for corporate organizations but not without them filling uncomfortable forms and getting the signature of the Bank CEO and others. And after all that stress, it will be for 15,000,000. But 15,000,000 is not enough for one Local government in the election when imagine the level at which they were ready to go. Now, they’ve looked left and right and seen that there’s no way to beat the system without those who helped you beat the system running into trouble and it would still be for insignificant sum. That’s why they are now moving mad. First they readied some governors to go and tell Buhari that the policy is against him and that people might revolt against him. And one wonders which people they are talking about. Is it us or there’s another set of Nigerians we don’t know about? Because we are not complaining. As if that is not enough, we were flabbergasted yesterday to learn that the DSS had secretly instituted a case against Emefiele asking the judge to grant them custody of him for 60 days; like seriously? And guess what they accused him - “Financing of Terrorism”. We do believe that anything is possible under the sun but Emefiele financing terrorism? Hmmmm! So, who is really afraid of Emefiele? I thought they said they can beat the system? Why are they now running kiti kiti kata kata? I thought they said they are popular and have structure? Why are they now angry that they won’t have money to bribe electorates and INEC officials to subvert the will of the people? Does a popular person need to pay the people to get their support? Please, whoever is after Emefiele should allow the man be as we approach the upcoming election. Nigerians are happy with his policies so far. If we weren’t, we would have complained by ourselves and not needing any governor to complain on our behalf. Let all the candidates in the 2023 elections go into the election on an even ground, from presidential candidates to governorship candidates to senatorial candidates, etc. Let all those who will win election in 2023 know that they are truly the choice of the people and not an instance where moneybags buy their way to power. When emilokan was daring Buhari he forgot that there is something called the power of incumbency. Buhari allowed him to cash and carry the APC primary and is now dismantling everything he was boasting of to win the presidential election. I am beginning to like this Buhari. |

No one is afraid of Emefiele.
They're just afraid of his recent economic policies. |

Emefiele has vowed that since Tinubu had used money to beat him to the game in the Primaries, he(Emefiele) will also play the same game in a very offensive manner.. Now Tinubu and Some cohorts in Atiku camp are emerging together to fight against Emefiele... I love this fight!!! |

Moment you see prominent people protesting against government policies know that such policies would benefit the mass. I remember fuel subsidy policy as well. |
