I doubt.
Re: Tax Clearance Certificate Required For Foreign Exchange Transactions In Banks by MiaBeer(m): 4:53pm On Dec 20, 2022
Well. I don’t know what is going on but I don’t do foreign exchange transactions in Nigeria as long as Bala and Mohammed are there. I don’t do anything in or with Nigerian banks since that’s a waste of my time.

People will start using illegal channels to bring their foreign currency in, thereby stifling the economy of foreign currency. This is probably not from the FIRS!

This will only lead to multiple taxation.

But then, anything goes in a mad country.

New opportunity for bribery. People without tax TCC will bribe their way in. More money to those in that office.

It is just a Revenue drive. People who hitherto don't file any returns of just file minimal Returns will up the what they file.

That's all. It means more money for the Government and also the informal Sector in the Foreign Exchange Remittance.

Schools Fees, Medical Fees and what have you will now have this Tax imputs included in the Charges people pay.

Good one! We must all pay tax however little. Informal sector will now be captured into the tax net; good news for states with high populations, my Lagos and Kano states.
