A British rapper visits Nigeria and pronto, the Nigeria Police pulled out 3 fully armed policemen to be his bodyguards
This is a country whose citizens are being killed daily for lack of state security.
A country where over 200 million people share about 300,000 policemen. 100,000 of the number serve as bodyguards
Will the Metropolitan Police in London pull out a single Met Policeman to serve as a bodyguard to Davido in London?Never.
It’s obvious that the rapper paid either the Lagos state commissioner of police for the police bodyguards or some corrupt pot belly police chiefs at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
In all these, it is not Nigeria as a country that is sick, it is it leaders and those supporting the sick leaders who are sick.

Regardless, if there's an attack on him, the three policemen are useless to him. People that can't protect themselves undecided

Under American constitution...An American citizen is allowed to hold a gun
But here the reverse is the case under nigerian constitution ....

I don't know but if tacitly Davido Is an American citizen by birth he has every right to carry gun in America to protect himself not here in nigeria our constitution forbids that.

Besides..the organizers that brought the rapper to nigeria were the ones who were responsible for security men provided for him..

Apart from politics. USA has the highest crime rate in the world..in that country , women are raped every day and successful men are killed regularly. .

Unlike the UK, Nigeria is a country marred by mind boggling insecurity. So I dont think there's anything out of place for the police to provide armed security for visiting foreign personalities who would only be around for a brief period.

Where the real problem lies is the 'big men' all over Nigeria who 'possess' the policemen, using them as personal bodyguards, maiguards and personal thugs.

first private armed security companies should be hired to provide security rather than policemen paid by taxpayers secondly American crime rate is nothing compared to what is been experienced in Nigeria today. Stop defending the indefensible.

I see ur point Op, but it’s not everything u see that is used in comparison. The security situation in ur country has deteriorated so badly that your country is now recording casualty figures equal to a war zone! And that guy is a walking, talking treasure island to kidnappers. He has got to be protected to avoid an international incidence capable of negatively impacting international relations between our country and his new country, but I get ur point.

Nigeria is not the issue

Why? Because it is a country that require people and action to make it work

Rather the people, especially those on top

Why?? Because the country can not look great having work to be done and rather than working that work out, otherwise tend to be the case.
