Some ppl beleive that there is this blessing that comes with killing/sacrificing a live animals blood and making it spill in your compd,you never know his reasons!

The butchers are either learners or little mistakes that blow upon an expert once in a while during work blew on them and they lost focus. It doesn't matter where the cows are killed. We killed two cows at home around October for a wedding ceremony. These cows were tied well from where they were brought and dragged from the vehicle to the ground.

Even when the butchers were still preparing and not ready, these cows remained in the tied and twisted position on the ground (no chance for relaxation) since it's not as if they are leaving it till the other day.

They were dragged to the slaughter (all legs tied expertly) and it was easy for them, no standing up or whatever for the cow. Slaughtered successfully and all went well.

As for the stealing part, you're right, but my mum monitored everything strictly and firmly grin

Apart from important close family relatives that got some choice parts of the meat uncooked, the whole neighborhood got food and meat, and after the wedding when everyone was served, the meat still remain for freezer as I dey talk. Dem still dey chop meat since October and e never finish.

This experience has made me respect cow (even though dem no big for my eyes) say cow get meat for body. So if monitored well during butchering, na surplus meat person go dey chop.

The strangest part is that they didn't tether it securely to a post before trying to kill it. Even as small as a goat is, both the front and hind legs should be tied before killing it.
