Today, 27 Dec 2022 was slated for Bikers Carnival as part of events building up to the 2022 Carnival.
The event started well with the Gov, Orof Ben Ayade declaring the show open. Shortly after, a vehicle from no where rammed to onlookers who were watching the show from the pedestrian walkway by Bogobiri (Hausa settlement) along Mary Slessor road killing 7 on the spot and about 25 terribly wounded. This aggravated the onlookers who started hauling stones on the bikers.
The state government is yet to give an official statement about the incidence
