Everything about the scene
The Protagonist and the Tenet military team deviced a plan to launch a temporal pincer, both normal and inverted attacks at the same time to distract Sator's forces so the Protagonist and Commander Ives can then use that opportunity to steal the algorithm. One of Sator's men traps the two of them but a Tenet soldier sacrifices himself to save them. The Protagonist later discovers that Neil (Pattinson) is the soldier who sacrificed himself while inverted.

It's still a head-scratcher why folks keep saying they don't understand "Tenet". giving, one might simply not get it on first watch but there are tons of trusted articles and sub reds explaining the entirety of the it in such delicate details that seeing it again armed with these explained details, might be a breeze.
Same. Like if they're saying there are some scenes they don't understand in detail, I can understand that but when they talk about not understanding the plot or parts of the plot, they lose me.

Been long I saw the movie for this explanation to hit home but I will pretend to understand.

Thanks.

Glass Onion - A Knives Out Mystery (2022) 7/10

Rian Johnson did quite the amazing job with the first Knives Out movie and I feel he'd probably have done better with this one if he'd been less concerned about giving Elon Musk the finger. Yes, Rian, your less than subtle placeholder Musk character didn't go unnoticed.

Props to Johnson, he does deliver an interesting and entertaining mystery story, through the first and second acts. The third act ends up feeling rather a bit underwhelming. It felt as though the mystery got resolved right as it started picking up steam and the whole burn-it-down sequence felt a bit anticlimactic.

i]Glass Onion,[/i] all in all, is still a pretty enjoyable mystery movie. Just fell a bit of the mark of matching its predecessor.

P.S: Haven't really noticed anyone talking about the jab to the conservative red pill alpha male side of the internet taken with Bautista's character. Another evidence that most people won't recognize the "forced wokeism and agenda" they claim to hate until some YouTuber points it out, usually when the movie or series has poor ratings as well.
IMO because the mystery was a dead giveaway like 15 minutes into the flick and so there was no big reveal or mystery at the end to embody the title...but a very decent watch none the less.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. It not only matched the first film, it surpassed it.

Glass Onion excels because it transcends the murder mystery genre. It has several layers but is transparent, much like the title. Essentially, it is a mystery that is not a mystery. Although the murderer is obvious, there is more to it than meets the eye.

Did it really?
First movie had a pretty great red herring with Ana de Armas' character.
Glass Onion ended up feeling rather straight forward. Not much twists and turns on that ride.

When Chris Evans is among the suspects, there's not much of a red herring. I knew it was him from the start, but I wanted to know how he did it, so I kept watching. In the end, I was mostly satisfied with the outcome.

Glass Onion is unique. Again, the killer is obvious, but the story is no longer about the murder mystery, it is a social commentary rich in symbolism and irony.

I recommend watching it again and paying close attention to the clues. It's a hilarious examination of influencer culture.

Spoilers included.

I think being straight forward was intentional because Blanc himself said he was expecting a complicated case with complicated motives and opportunities. The reason being that it involved Miles, who Blanc thought was a genius, and his disruptor friends. I think we the audience has the same expectations. It turns out that Blanc could have easily found Andi’s killer if he actually had time to question the disruptors one after the other before Duke was murdered. This further confirms that Miles is not a genius we thought he was.

I got the influencer culture digs. Pointed out one in my postscript.

Alright, if it's not too much trouble, sell me on the rather dramatic ending.

What?!

What are you on about? The film makes it abundantly clear that Miles is a phoney, a moron_ masquerading as a genius. It even provided us with numerous hints pointing to this.

Miles' repeated malapropism was the first red flag. To appear smarter, he made up words.

The second clue alluded to Miles' lack of intelligence. Despite the fact that his company is Alpha, an Omega letter can be seen in numerous places throughout the film.

The third hint suggested Miles was a fraud. This one is a little more difficult to put into words but the gist of it is Miles is an idiot.

Nah bro, you completely misunderstood the film.

You've to understand that Blanc came to the island armed with the knowledge that one of the disruptors murdered Andi.
He plays to the gallery but secret observes the disruptors.
He initially thought Miles a complicated genius but abandoned that idea after the failed assassination of Helen.
Cos it dawned on him that Miles through sheer incompetence poisoned Andi and later poisoned Derek after he tried to blackmail him, and then shot Helen to tie up the loose ends.
In fact, Miles in his bumbling idiocy borrowed the murder ideal from Blanc himself.
That's how Blanc knew it had to be Miles.
Miles was that stupid.

And let's not forget how Miles didn't even bother to hide the incriminating envelope.
A criminal mastermind will destroy the envelope as soon as they get their hands on it, but Miles inexplicably held on to it.
He's an idiot.

You'd have to give credit to James Cameron though: man does know his stuff.

There's no way I'd have guessed that Avatar 2 would make a billion dollars, and now it's a potential 2 billion hitter.

I thought that interest had died in that project.

Most people predicted 1 billion, 2 billion will probably not happen...It's tracking similar to Rogue 1, if it's legs improve, 2 billion is possible, if not, I'm predicting 1.6...

I remember when the first one came out and the Oscar for best picture was given to K. Bigelow's Hurt Locker despite the movie not making 1/20th of Avatar and not exactly as "original", you go no say na politics, sentiments and nonsense mixed together.
I absolutely enjoyed the first one but yet to see Avatar: The Way of the water.

Are you saying Avatar 1 deserved a best picture award because it earned a lot more than the Hurt Locker?

When you say not exactly as original, are you implying Avatar's plot is somehow more Original than the Hurt Locker, or are you referring to military movies in general?

If the legs holds out this weekend, just maybe nudge in $1.9bn.

grin grin grin grin

One would expect the usual parties to pick it up, but they didn't.....Or maybe they did and decided not to talk about it( The conservative jab grin grin)

This review is perfectly how I feel...

It's curious that I enjoyed Enola Holmes 2 more than I did Glass Onion!

This instalment is solid though, a nice enough sequel...

Black Adam deserved to flop. The movie is dreadful. China's release wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Come on, if BA is dreadful then what would you say about Thor: love and thunder?

If that useless and childish superhero movie could make more than $700 million, then BA should have made more than that because in my opinion, BA is miles better.

Lol, I don't think even the most optimistic DC fans expected BA to earn $1bn. Highest figures were $600-700mn depending on performance.

Yep, China ban affected the film a lot as Dwayne is mega box office draw over there. It could probably have hit at least $120mn over there.
It's saddening, BA doesn't deserve to be a box office b.omb, if a useless movie like Thor: love and thunder could made $760 million, then I think BA should have made more than that, damn.

Extreme "wokeism" is ruining the fun out of everything these days and i think movies suffer the most from it. You basically can't enjoy any movie without one airhead conjuring up a ridiculous and down right silly think piece....like just enjoy a movie and move along. I wouldn't even know the difference if black or colored actors played the role of "fictional blue aliens" living on a "fictional planet" ffs
